The New State Education Standards And Assessment Test Is Coming Soon
The current Governor, the Commissioner of Educa- tion for the Florida Department of Education, the ma- jority rule Florida House of Representatives and State Senators orchestrated a plan in their committee meet- ings to dissolve the current education standards and assessment test with new state education standards and assessment tests for the 2020-2021 school year. This is for all K-12 Public Schools in the state of Florida.
This is not helping our K-12 Public School Districts nor is this assisting the administrators, educators, and staff members in our schools.
More importantly, this is not good for our students to achieve academic success in school.
The Commissioner of Education has strategically undermined K-12 Public School Districts which is an unethical education assessment move, in my opinion. Implementing new education standards and assess- ment tests in the middle of the school year is unfair to all 74 school districts in the State of Florida.
I assume, it usually take three years for the Florida Department of Education to develop and implement state education standards and assessment tests for K- 12 Public Schools throughout the State of Florida.
Humbly stating, I believe the Commissioner of Edu- cation for the Florida Department of Education should allow the educators to use the old education standards and assessment tests for the remainder of the academic school year.
If the Governor and the Commissioner of Education for the Florida Department of Education implement new education standards and a state assessment test, both should be put into place at the beginning of the school year.
Why?
To balance the books for instruction. With the fol- lowing taking place, K-12 Public Schools in the state of Florida will have a fair chance of having passing school districts and school grades which equal to students achievement across the board within the state of Florida.
