Moms4God Is Rooted In:
Education, Respect And Love For God

Moms4God, Inc., founded and operated by Janci “Cookie” Dorsey, is doing a lot in Tampa fol- lowing the gradual reopening after COVID. One of the key organizations under the Moms4God banner is the Tampa Bay Lions, a youth sports program.
Moms4God’s principles are:
1. Point themselves toward God; 2. Moms take care of themselves
holistically, through herbs and prayer.
In the future, Dorsey says that the organization is looking to build a resource center and a training center for Moms to come in and heal them- selves spiritually.
The Tampa Bay Lions group par- ticipates in all sports and right now they are concentrating on basketball, football, and cheer.
The difference between this pro- gram and other programs like this is the way they treat the children. No child is cut, and every child gets to play. The emphasis is teaching the sport, rather than competing. This training provides the basics so the child can be successful in future games.
Dorsey wanted something God- based so its sports teams would have good role models. She has a ministry and passion to help women and chil- dren, leading them to God. The at- mosphere at Tampa Bay Lions is a haven for education, respect, and love for God.
Leaders within the group prevent drinking and cussing in the stands and around the kids.
The children are aged 4 to 15 years old. After that, children are en- couraged to try out at their high school.
Now, since missing last season, they have resumed.
The organization is based at 5300 E. 15th Avenue (Columbus Dr. and 50th Street).
Dorsey graduated from Florida A & M University. She lives in Tampa with her husband, Floyd Dorsey and their four children.
