Tax Credits
Child Tax Credits: The IRS Will Send Out $300 Payments To Families On These Dates The Rest Of The Year
The $300 relief payments will begin on July 15 and continue monthly through to December.
The dates after July are:
August 13 September 15 October 15 November 15 December 15
Families will receive the first letter from the IRS if it appears they are eligible for the credit based on their 2019 or 2020 tax returns.
They will also be sent to those who provided the IRS with their information using the Non-Filers Tool on its website.
A second personalized letter will be sent to families once it is confirmed they are eligible for the cash.
This letter will also out- line how much money the family will receive.
The expanded Child Tax Credits come as part of Pres- ident Joe Biden's Ameri- can Rescue Plan.
Instead of forcing fami- lies to wait for the credit when filing their tax returns for 2021 next year, struggling Americans will receive the amount they are eligible for in monthly payments until the end of 2021.
The remainder of the child tax credit cash will land in bank accounts as a lump sum next year.
Some US families may also be eligible to claim an
additional $8,000 in tax credits from the government
thanks to the $1.9 trillion America Rescue Plan.

SURFSIDE, FLA. - Miami-Dade County’s mayor has confirmed a 12th death due to the Surfside condo col- lapse, and hundreds remain unaccounted for as rescuers continue their search for sur- vivors in the rubble.
As of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the death toll has increased to
12.
“Since our last briefing,
very unfortunately, one addi- tional victim was recovered,” Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava said.
Police have not yet identi- fied the 12th victim of the col- lapse.
Fire rescue crews con- tinue to uncover the rubble in hopes of finding more surviv-
ing victims. There are 149 people still unaccounted for, and 125 have been accounted for.
Earlier Tuesday morning, it was announced President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden will be visit- ing Surfside on Thursday.
“He’s going to spend time with the families who were affected and our first respon- ders,” Levine Cava said. “We’ve had his support since he called me day one in the morning, and this is so criti- cal that we do have our fed- eral support.”
Firefighters faced chal- lenges overnight as debris fell from a section of the building that remains standing.
