The National Honor So- ciety is the country’s pre- mier organization that recognizes outstanding high school students. It serves to pay tribute to those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship,
service, leadership, and character.
The National Honor So- ciety was established in 1921 by the National Asso- ciation of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). The organization has four main purposes: to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools.
Chapters are estab- lished on the campuses of high schools and middle schools.

Recently, the grading pe- riod for the first-nine weeks closed and students received their grades. Several mem- bers of Men of Vision, Inc., were designated as honor roll students.
These young men are under the new leadership of James Eliassaint-Ander- son, the President and Direc- tor of Men of Vision, Inc. His father, Ross Anderson, is an educator and founder of the organization.
President Eliassaint- Anderson assumed the du- ties of the day-to-day responsibilities this summer.
In addition to working with the young men, he also works closely with the parents to keep the young men on track for graduation.
Eliassaint-Anderson
said, “These young men must be at their best and do their best at all times. If college is in their futures, then they need to show it by their aca- demics and meaningful com- munity involvement.”
Under his guidance, twenty-two young men had grades that warrant honor roll status. The young men represent several schools in Hillsborough County, from elementary to high school.
