Computer Mentors Opens Registration For Online Training

Ralph Smith, founder and CEO of Computer Men- tors Group said the organiza- tion will offer open registration for student en- rollment in online coding and software training. In support of Hillsborough County Public Schools, Com- puter Mentors is currently enrolling students in the high demand online programs KidsCode and TEENtech.
Students are out of school until at least April 15, 2020, and Computer Mentors wants all students to con- tinue deep learning and skill- building in computer science by registering online.
If the student lives in Hillsborough County, these online Computer Science/In-
formation Technology courses are available, year- round.
All courses are without cost, made possible by the funding from Children’s Board of Hillsborough County and other sponsors.
Smith said, “We offer KidsCode online coding pro- gram to 4th-8th graders, stu- dents will learn to code using Python language. Students’ engage on a journey of fun while slaying dragons, build- ing their own character in a storyline, and learning to problem solve.
“Students will experience computer science skills that are conceptual and competi- tive that assists in strength- ening literacy skills.”

Smith further said, “We also offer TEENtech online programming and projects for high school students to build employability skills in Computer Science/Informa- tion Technology. Students earn industry standard certi- fications in Microsoft Tech- nology Associates: fundamental technology sys- tems, Python, C#, HTML 5, JavaScript, and CSS. All high school students collaborate online with their peers to en- gage with technology proj- ects stored in the cloud.
“For students to earn in- dustry certification Com- puter Mentors proctor students’ exams. These certi- fications are nationally rec- ognized and college credits are earned.
“Additionally, Computer Mentors offer Microsoft Of- fice Specialist: Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint indus- try certifications.”
