Jesuit Wins 6A State Final
Sophomore quarterback Luke Knight threw three touchdowns passes to lead Tampa’s own Jesuit High School Tigers to a 35-29 vic- tory over Pine Forest High School on Saturday night in the Florida FHSAA 6A state championship game.
Knight completed eight- een passes for 352 yards while Junior Vandeross had six receptions for 185 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter.

Tampa Bay Tech Loses In State Final, But Are Champions To Community
Tampa Bay Tech’s run to the FHSAA 7A State Cham- pionship fell short Friday night after the Titans lost in the state championship.
The 42 – 14 lopsided win for Fort Lauderdale’s St. Thomas Aquinas ended the Titans hopes for the ulti- mate victory.
Tampa Bay Tech man- aged to score late in the game, but it was too little, too late. The Raiders continued their domination of the 7A division, winning their third title in a row.
They have a record thir- teen state football champi- onships.

“We made way too many mistakes and bad decisions against a great football team,” Titans coach Jayson Roberts reportedly stated.
“We made a couple of those mistakes early in the game, and that put us in a hole that was really tough to get out of.”
