Alumni Of Bethune- Cookman University Attend Unveiling
     Ceremony Of Statue
Alumni of Bethune-Cookman University attended the private un- veiling ceremony of the Mary McLeod Bethune statue.
The reception for 250 guests was held in the Grand Lobby of the News Journal Center in partnership with the City of Daytona. The statue will be placed in the U. S. Capitol representing the State of Florida. She will be the first African-American to stand in the hall.
The National Alumni Association presented a check in the amount of $115,000 to the Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Statuary Fund, Inc., President, Nancy Lohman. Dr. Sheila Flemming presided over the program. Johnny McCray, Jr., Esquire, is the National President. (Photographs by Julia Jackson)

Retired B-CU Coach Owen and retired B-CU educator, Pro- fessor Joyce Harris, Tampa.
Tampa alumni of Bethune-Cookman University who at- tended the statue unveiling were: E. Saffold, O. Leggett, G. Patty, Dr. D. Jones, Alumni President; B. Watson, M. Harvey, J. Jackson and J. Grant.
