Tony Romo Doesn't Plan To Retire Despite Interest From TV Networks
TONY ROMO
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo remains deter- mined to play in 2017 and has no plans to retire, league sources told ESPN.
Romo turns 37 in April and is coming off a significant back injury,	and	according	to sources, he has already received strong interest from television networks that want him to work as a color analyst.
But Romo still wants to play, and determining which team he'll play for will be the subject of much speculation in the weeks to come.
Romo lost his starting job this season because of a presea- son back injury and the emer- gence of rookie Dak Prescott, who led the Cowboys to a 13-3 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.
Prescott was named The Associated Press' NFL Offen- sive Rookie of the Year on Sat- urday, becoming the first Cowboys player since Emmitt Smith (1990) to win the award, after passing for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns this season.

With point guard Kyrie Irving out with right quad soreness, LeBron James added the role of facilitator to his scoring repertoire Saturday against the New York Knicks.
James poured in 32 points and became the youngest player to score 28,000 in a ca- reer as the Cleveland Cavaliers knocked off the Knicks 111-104 at Madison Square Garden.
The 32-year-old James has scored 28,020 points, good for eighth place on the NBA list.
James also had a team- high 10 assists, but committed

five turnovers in 39 minutes. James is two assists from passing Lenny Wilkens (7,211) for 13th place on the NBA's career list.
Heat Pushes Winning Streak To 10
Hassan Whiteside made everything look easy.
That's the Miami Heat way right now.
Whiteside	scored	30 points and grabbed 20 re- bounds in just 27 minutes, Dion Waiters scored 21 points on 10 shots and the Heat pushed their winning streak to 10 games with a 125-102 romp past the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night.
Miami led by as many as 34, and shot a season-best 59 per- cent.
"We're not thinking about the win streak," Whiteside said. "We're a whole different team than we were a month ago. Guys are healthy. Guys are playing together. We're a whole different team."
Goran Dragic had 16 points and eight assists for Miami, and Tyler Johnson

also scored 16. The 10-game streak is the longest current one in the NBA, and ties Hous- ton for the second-longest in the league this season. Golden State won 12 straight in No- vember.
"It took us a while, with all the moving parts, to really un- derstand what our identity is and what's important for us to be able to win basketball games," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "We're getting better with it."
Minnesota	Timberwolves guard Zach LaVine will need season-ending surgery after suffering a torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced Sat- urday.
LaVine had an MRI before the Wolves hosted Memphis on Saturday night, when the diag- nosis was revealed. He suffered the injury during Friday's 116- 108 loss to the Pistons.
LaVine, who was averaging 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists, will have surgery at a later date, the team said.
LaVine is part of Min- nesota's young trio of 21-year- olds that includes Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns, a group that has given the team's long-suffering fans hope that the franchise is re- turning to relevance. His explo- sive athleticism has made him a crowd favorite, but he had taken another step this season

toward proving he is more than just a dunker.
LaVine was shooting 38.7 percent from 3-point range and had worked harder to become a better defender under new coach Tom Thibodeau. And after winning the past two dunk titles, LaVine recently decided not to go for a third straight win this year, a deci- sion Thibodeau said proved the flashy youngster had the bigger picture in mind.
