AIKENS
MR. JOSEPH McBRIDE
A Homegoing Celebration for Mr. Joseph McBride of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Sat- urday, September 12, 2020, will be held on Wednesday, Septem- ber 30th, 10:00 a.m. at Aikens Fu- neral Home, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Elder Ger- ald Eugene Green, Sr. The inter- ment will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
Joseph McBride made his transition in the early morning hours on Saturday, September 12, 2020, to reunion with the ances- tors and dear mother, Gladys McBride.
A private family service will be held on September 30, 2020, at the Aikens Funeral home Chapel, his interment will be at Bushnell National Cemetery.
Joe, as he was affectionately known, was born in Tampa, FL on January 18, 1948, to the union of Gladys Bailey McBride and Sidney McBride. He was the third of ten children.
He attended Hillsborough County schools: Lomax, Booker T. Washington, Howard W. Blake and graduated from Middleton High School in 1967. In addition to his debonair and determined per- sona, Joe was a stellar track ath- lete earning several college and

Graveside Service for Ms. La’Quetta Tamesha Shawnell Stephens, who passed away on Sep- tember 21, 2020, will be held Satur- day, September 26, 2020, at 9 a. m., at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave.
La’quetta Tamesha Shawnell Stephens, a natve of Tampa, Florida, was born February 16, 1991. She resided in College Park, Georgia. La’quetta attended the schools of Hillsborough County, where she was a graduate. She later attended college at Hillsbor- ough Community College, where her course as a Medical Assistant and a Home Health Aide Nurse was studied and completed with a suc- cessful graduation. She then con- tinued in the work field as a Customer Service Representative.
She was preceded in death by: her grandfather and grandmother, Leon Stephens and Carrie Ineatha Green Stephens.
She leaves to mourn: her three children, Zzaryah, Lyrix And Za- liyah; also a fiance, Dariese Roberts; her beloved father, Vin- cent Stephens (Estella); her loving mother, Carolyn Lee; grandpar- ents, Oscar Lee and Floreen Ruth Barnes Lee; brothers, Vincent Stephens, Jr. (Renee), Tearo Stephens (Roshawndra), Jermaine Hammonds, Javon Stephens, De- vante Stephens and Amari Turner; sisters, Quenyetta Stephens, Shakita Hammonds, Jjenlana Larry and a special and devoted sis- ter, Lakisha Stephens (Johnny); aunts, Jessie Mae Harrison, Jackie Stokes, Gloria Hughes, Vivian Lucas, Bridgette Danzey, Carol Stephens, and Floreen Lee; uncles, Terry Stephens; god parent, Sheila Hammonds, and Estella Roberts; dedicated nephews and nieces, Mauntellis, Jr. Mauntalisha, Mar- cellis, Maquellis, Mauntrellis, Jamyia, and Johnny, Jr.; a host of sorrowing family and friends.

MR. ROOSEVELT HARVIN, JR.
Mr. Roosevelt Harvin, Jr., was born on May 17, 1957 in Havana, FL, to Roosevelt Harvin and Eloise Thomas. He later moved to Tampa, FL in 1967, where he at- tended Hillsborough County Pub- lic Schools. He received Christ in the early 1990’s. He received a welding degree from Brewster Tech. He was a foreman for over 30 years.
In 2004, he married his beloved wife, Dorothy Blakely Harvin.
He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Agnes Addison, Daisy Jackson, Pal Harvin, J. T. Thomas; mother, Eloise Thomas; mother-in-law, Annie Mae Blakely; sisters, Ruby L. Thomas, LaTonya Blackmon; sister-in-law, Patricia Mutcherson; brother, Ste- vie Harvin; brother-in-law, David L. Irvin; and nephew, Christopher Irvin.
Left to cherish his memory are: wife, Dorothy Harvin; father, Roosevelt Harvin; brothers, Rev. Unfortunately, he was unable to avail himself of the scholarship offers due to being drafted into the U.S. Army in the immediate sum- mer after graduating high school. Near the end of his valiant tour of duty War with the 126 Infantry in the Vietnam War, Joe sustained complex emotional and psycholog- ical trauma and physical injuries.
In 1968, Joseph was honored with Purple Heart in recognition of his service to the nation.
He was preceded in death by: his mother Gladys R. Bailey McBride; 3 brothers, Nathaniel Bailey, Michael McBride, and Wal- ter Randolph; two sisters, Betty Bailey and Bertha Randolph; and nephew, Harvey Bailey.
Joe leaves fond and cherish memories: one sister, Deborah McBride Mingo (Goldie), three brothers, Rudolph McBride, Edgar Randolph, Jr., (Beverly), and An- thony McBride; nephews, Walter C. Bailey, Walter Pickens Randolph, Chavez Pownell, Sr., Damien Pendleton (Rola), Rodney Reed, Chavez L. Pownell, Jr., Jerell Cargill, Avant Pownell, Khyree Baines, DeShaun G. A Homegoing Graveside Cele- bration for Mrs. Mildred Wash- ington Demons of Tampa, Florida, who passed away, Friday, Septem- ber 18, 2020, will be held on Sat- urday, September 26th, 11:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Pastor Julia McMillian, officiat- ing. The interment will follow.
Mildred was born October 8, 1937, to the late Willie Washing- ton, Sr., and Bessie Walden Wash- ington.
She attended Tennille Ele- mentary School, in Tennille, Geor- gia. She was married to the late Willie Edward Demons, Sr. She relocated to Tampa, Florida and from that union they had 5 chil- dren.
She was also preceded in death by two of her children, Shirley Ann Demons and Larry Darnell Demons.
She leaves fond memories of her: with her three children, Willie Edward Demons, Jr., (Thomasina), Geronnie Demons (Tawanna), and her devoted daughter, Kathy Johnson (Otto) all of Tampa, Florida; 1 step daughter, Jacqueline Jones (Her- bert) of Tampa, Florida; 6 grand- daughters, Erica Hill, Tamika Demons, Tiffany Robinson, LaTe- cia Johnson, Alisia Johnson and Ashley Jones; 2 grandsons, Tremayne Hall and Aaron Jones (Haronda); 3 sisters, Helen Elli- son (David), Mary Cannida of Ten- nille, GA and Barbara Russell of Sandersville, GA; 1 brother, Tommy Washington (Pam) of Marlton, NJ; 2 aunts, Lula M. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 25th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside for the service. We are following CDC guidelines.
