Man Charged With First Degree Murder Of Girlfriend
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 24- year-old man after he told rel- atives he wanted to kill himself. When deputies ar- rived, the man was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
However, once Hector Favio Acevedo was in cus- tody, police said he made statements that raised con- cerns about the well being of his girlfriend, Ms. Shyeanne Lewis. When Tampa Police responded to Ms. Lewis’ home at 4819 College Court, Apartment B 16, there was no answer.
Officers forced entry into the apartment, where they discovered the body of Ms.

Lewis inside the apartment. She had suffered trauma to her body.
When Acevedo was ques- tioned by police, he reportedly admitted to going to her apartment between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m., Saturday morning.

He told police they became engaged in an argument. Based on his statements to police, Acevedo was charged with the first-degree murder of Ms. Lewis.
The investigation is con- tinuing, police said.
Young Man Killed In West Tampa Shooting
Early Sunday morning, the Tampa Police Depart- ment responded to a shooting in West Tampa. The investi- gating officers learned that a 24-year-old man was suffer- ing from gunshot wounds.
The man, identified as
Darrius Jaquan Harris,
was transported to a local hospital, where he died as a
result of his injuries.
The shooting took place
shortly after 8 a.m., at 1937 W. Union Street.
Police said information pertaining to the shooting was very limited at press time. However, the investiga- tion into the murder is con- tinuing.
Police Investigate Shooting Death Of Man
On Saturday morning, the Tampa Police Department re- sponded to a shooting at a north Tampa home. Upon ar- rival, police discovered that an unidentified man had been shot.
Officers responded to the Tzadik Oaks Apartments, 1250 E. 113th Avenue, in refer- ence to the 9-1-1 call. When they arrived shortly before 4
a.m., they found the man suf- fering from gunshot wounds. Police have not released
the identity of the victim pending notification of his next of kin. He was trans- ported to Tampa General Hospital as a trauma alert. He later died of his injuries.
Police said the active in- vestigation of the murder is continuing.
