IN THE SPOTLIGHT

This week in our Spotlight feature, we bring you the lovely Jenifer Ali. Jenifer’s hobbies are swim- ming, acting, dancing, and cheering. Jenifer’s goals are to one day pursue a degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Florida. Congratulations to Jenifer as this week’s Spotlight Unlimited feature.
   East Tampa Walking Tours Begin Saturday
 The East Tampa Walking tours will take place on Saturday mornings from 10 a. m. to 12 Noon. The first walking tour is on Saturday, January 30th and will highlight College Hill/Belmont Heights and Jackson Heights neighborhoods. Future walking tours will take place on February 13, 20 and 27 in other neighborhoods throughout the East Tampa CRA.
Saturday, January 30 Meeting Locations:
College Hill / Belmont Heights, meet at 10 a. m., TPD District 3/East Tampa CRA office, 3808 22nd Street.
Jackson Heights, meet at 10 a. m., NFL YET Center, 3310 E. Lake Avenue.
What Is A Walking Tour?
A walking tour is approximately a 1.5 mile route in a neighborhood. It is conducted at a slow pace to encourage participants to discuss neighborhood conditions and needs in a con- versational manner. In addition to the walking tours, neighborhood residents, business own- ers and community stakeholders are encour- aged to Take the Survey and Sign Up for News on the website. Surveys are also avail- able at the East Tampa CRA office located in the TPD District 3 building at 3808 N. 22nd Street.
Safety vests, face masks and a water bottle will be provided to participants and COVID- 19 CDC guidelines for social distancing will be followed.
Ms. Connie Burton is chairman of the East Tampa CRA Board.
  Crime
Woman Faces Manslaughter In Death Of Child
 A 23-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a child. She has been charged with manslaughter.
Ms. Yesica Boxtha, of Plant City, was charged after she left a young child in the bathtub alone. The child later died at a local hospital of drowning.

According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place on Sep- tember 5, 2020. Ms. Boxtha allegedly fell asleep while the child was left in the bathtub alone for an unknown period of time.
When she returned to the bathroom, she found the child was unresponsive. The Med- ical Examiner's Officer ruled the cause of death was drown- ing.
