When Tampa native Becky Silas Vinson was growing up, all she wanted to do is write. She entered competitions and nursed her budding talent. She always thought she would be a writer, but eventually life got in the way. She got married, had chil- dren, and works as a claims adjuster. Vinson is also an entrepreneur with an income tax and insurance busi- ness, BKS Financial.
Recently, Vinson published her first book, Unhappily Ever After. Pouring your heart out in a book is a tremendous undertaking, and Vin- son started writing her book seven years ago. The book is about a married woman named Bailey who is un- happy in her marriage and gets in- volved with someone she should not have. The book explores the ramifica- tions of her choice on her and her family. The sequel is about the next chapter in Bailey’s life. Vinson writes in many different formats, but prefers writing novels.
Vinson says that writing as an outlet has been important to her, she loves to read and people-watch and gets lots of inspiration from those ac- tivities. She notes that her father was a huge encourager and believed that she could do anything.
Vinson graduated from Gaither High School. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Stephen,
and their three children. She keeps busy by entertaining and caring for her six grandchildren.
