  LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge Hosts Charity Event
    This past Sunday (March 21st), LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge hosted a charity event for the Tarence Kinsey Foundation. Tarence Kinsey is a Florida native who played for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The vision of the Tarence Kinsey Foundation is to enrich the quality of life for youth and their families in our community.
LIT Cigar & Martini Lounge was able to present a check in the amount of $15,000. The donation will help support the Tarence Kinsey Foundation's basketball camps and programs.

      Woman’s Journey In Medicine Leads To Opening Of Business

came to the United States with her family at the age of 7. After 3 years in New York, the family looked for the sunny skies of Florida, set- tling in Miami.
One of 5 children , Mrs . Roberts furthered her edu- cation after high school at the University ofFlorida,where she majored in Nursing.
An Army recruiter spoke with her graduating class about joining the Army as a nurse officer. She did, and was later commissioned into the Army as a Second Lieu- tenant. “Joining the Army seemed like a great adven- ture,” she said, thinking of the travels she’d enjoy around the world.
She did her officer basic training in San Antonio, TX. She then spent 4 years (com- mitment to the Army) at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Ft. Gordon, GA.
After her commitment, Mrs . Roberts relocated to Tampa and enrolled in the University of South Florida ’s Master ’ s in Public Health Program . She continue to work as a nurse and com - pleted her education in Pub - lic Health in 2007 . While at USF,shealsometherhus- band, Donavin.
With her eyes set on be- coming a business owner, Mrs. Roberts continued her education. She went back to school to get a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. She

finished the work for this de- gree in 2014 and worked with seniors through various health care organizations.
But she was not done. The desire to own a business was still rining in her head. In January of 2018, she re- turned to the University of South Florida, but this time to the College of Nursing to embark on studies to earn a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. She completed the work on this degree in August of 2019.
In the spring of 2020 and the pandemic of COVID-19 lurking, she decided to fulfill her dream of owning a busi- ness, and started formulating a business plan.
The result of that is Com- passion Primary Care. “It is my goal to provide excellent, quality care. Especially dur- ing the midst of the COVID- 19 pandemic, it is important that we keep ourselves healthy.”
