BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
On October 29th, just days before voters went to the polls to cast ballots, then Pres- idential Candidate Joe Biden visited Tampa. The event took place at the Florida State Fair- grounds.
Among those who had a special reason to attend the rally was Mrs. Chloe Coney. Mrs. Coney was given the honor of introducing the guest speaker, Joe Biden. At the time, Mrs. Coney had no idea that she was introducing the next President of the United States.
Mrs. Coney introduced herself and some of her own accomplishments. She spoke of her work in the community as the former District Director for Congresswoman Kathy Castor. She also spoke of her efforts to revitalize neighbor- hoods, and the fact that she is known “as a woman who wears many hats, both liter- ally and figuratively.”
Mrs. Coney further said, “Right now, this President’s (Trump) refusal to address this virus has left us in a pub- lic health crisis and a severe economic crisis. I lost a dear cousin to this pandemic. ...
“It didn’t have to be this way and, after this election, it doesn’t have to be any longer.

“Joe is the guy who got the Affordable Care Act passed! I remember hearing stories from constituents who couldn’t get covered simply because of pre-existing condi- tions. Joe changed that. He delivered. ... That’s what we need. ... He has that human touch, it’s a blessing, he knows what we’re going through.”
She concluded by saying, “Tampa, it is an honor, I am just so excited to introduce to you a man who will bring this country together and restore
