2nd Man Involved In
16-Year-Old Charged In Ybor City Shooting

A
teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting. The incident took place last week.

is facing the charges of tam- pering with physical evidence, carrying concealed firearm, improper exhibition of a dan- gerous weapon or firearm, dis- charge firearm in public, and being a minor in possession of a firearm.
According to the Tampa Police Department, the shoot- ing took place near the inter- section of Angel Oliva Street (14th Street) and E. 8th Avenue, October 9th, around 2:49 a.m.
Detectives learned that Carnegie was walking with two other unknown individu- als in Ybor City when he was walking through the parking lot at the Northwest corner of Angel Olivia St. and E. 7th Av-
A second victim in a shoot- ing that took place nearly three weeks ago has died. The shoot- ing took place in the 3400 block of E. Osborne Avenue on September 30th shortly before 7 p.m.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers were dispatched to the area of N. 34th Street and E. Osborne Avenue, in reference to shots being fired. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered that three men had been shot. All three men were transported to local hospitals.
Levi Jones, Jr., 54, died a short time after arriving at the hospital. Robert (Pop) Johns, Jr., 41, was trans- ported to the hospital in seri- ous condition. He died on Sunday, October 17th, as a re- sult of his injuries. The third man, 39, who has not been identified, is expected to make a full recovery from his in- juries.

known males got into a verbal altercation with the victim. One of the unknown subjects fired a gun at the vic- tim and caused the victim to return fire with his handgun in the middle of a crowded parking lot.
Carnegie is reportedly ob- served on camera firing a handgun at the victim in re- sponse and then fleeing the scene. His image was captured on several surveillance cam-
eras and he was identified by several sources, police said.
During a consensual inter- view with Carnegie identified himself on video and admitted to being involved in the inci- dent.
He engaged in a gun battle with the victim after his unidentified associate fired the first round. There were a total of 26 rounds fired at the scene. A total of 4 unoccupied vehicles were struck during the gunfight. The case remains under investigation.
Detectives said all three men became engaged in a ver- bal altercation that became physical. At some point during the altercation, shots were ex- changed and all three men were hit by gunfire. When po- lice arrived, all three men were lying on the ground.
Police have not released any additional information and the investigation is contin- uing.
Woman Gets 3 Years For Access Device Fraud, Identity Theft

Police Search For Rolex Watch Theft Suspect
A 32-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison for access device fraud and aggra- vated identity theft. She ap- peared in federal court earlier in the week.
U. S. District Judge Vir- ginia M. Hernandez Cov- ington sentenced Ms. Antoinette Thomas of Tampa, to three years in federal prison. As part of her sentence, the court also ordered Ms. Thomas to pay $27,885.58 in restitution. She pleaded guilty on June 21, 2021.
According to court docu- ments, between February 1, 2016, and May 8, 2019, Ms. Thomas produced and used counterfeit access devices, such as component parts of multiple victims’ retail store credit ac- counts, with the specific intent to defraud the stores, credit
using someone else’s store credit account.
In October 2019, law en- forcement executed a federal search warrant at Ms. Thomas’s residence and re- covered: several notebooks of handwritten personal identifi- cation information, including more than 100 sets of names, dates of birth, and Social Secu- rity numbers; information on multiple credit accounts held in the names of others, including several credit card numbers; and multiple fraudulent or fic- titious documents including al- tered copies of Social Security cards, Florida identification cards, and pay stubs.
Ms. Thomas’s finger- prints were on several of the pages of the notebooks con- taining victims’ information, court documents showed.
Deputies are currently searching for a man who took a Rolex watch and ran. The theft took place at Dreams Diamonds in the Brandon Town Center Mall.
The incident was re- ported on last Wednesday. Surveillance video shows a clerk put the watch on to the suspect’s wrist so that he could try it on. The sus- pect then ran from the store.
