   City Council Districts 1 & 2:
 City Council Candidates Qualify For Districts 1 And 2

When voters cast their bal- lots on March 5th for the City Council Board, they will have a variety of candidates from which to choose. The District I seat has five candidates. The District II slot has three candi- dates.
Both of the districts are at- large seats. The candidate cho- sen will represent the entire city. There is not an incum- bent so all candidates are on even standing in the election. Both races are also void of women contenders.
Joseph Citro is known for his civic activism and as a local businessman. He has served on various boards. Citro lost bids in 2011 and 2015 for a seat on the board.
Alan Clendenin is a re- tired Tampa International Air- port Air Traffic Controller. He has also been active on several boards in the community.
David Loos, Jr., is a Tampa native and graduate of the University of South Florida and Troy University. He cur- rently is employed as a Work- place Consultant for the Beaux-Arts Group. Loos has also served on a number of boards and with numerous or- ganizations.
Craig A. Newman has qualified to run for the City Council District I seat.
Walter L. Smith, II, is a native of Tallahassee. He is the son of Jeraldine Williams, a civil rights activist. He is also the son of Dr. Walter Smith, former president of Florida A & M University.
Smith teaches courses involv- ing construction and related activities in both West and East Tampa. He is a commu- nity activist. He is the only African American in the race for District I.
There are three candidates seeking the City Council Dis- trict II Seat. The seat is also an
at-large position.
John Godwin is a na-
tional security and technical innovation consultant with the National Geospatial Intelli- gence Agency. He is based at MacDill Air Force Base. He is active in numerous organiza- tions in the community.
Charlie Miranda is a
seasoned City Councilman. He has served on the board from 1974 until 1979, and again from 1995 until 2003.
Joe Robinson is a Tampa native and President and CEO of RHC & Associates Consult- ing Engineers, Inc. He is the only African American in the race for District II.

City Council Candidates Qualify For Districts 3 And 4

When voters cast their bal- lots on March 5th for the City Council Board, they will have a variety of candidates from which to choose in District III with four candidates and Dis- trict IV with three candidates.
District III is an at-large seat, while District IV is district specific. There is not an incum- bent so all candidates are on even standing in the election. One woman is vying for the District III seat.
John Dingfelder served on the Tampa City Council from 2003-2010. He filed for District III, a seat held by City Councilmember Yoli Capin. She has to leave because of term limits and decided not to pursue an at-large seat.
Nicholas Glover is the only African American compet- ing for the District III seat. A newcomer to local politics Glover is a civil activist and said, “I’m running to bring peo- ple together to take on the big issues we face.”
Also a local civic leader new to local politics, Stephen
Lytle qualified by signature ballot.
Vibha “Ms. V” Shevade
is the only female in the race for the District III seat. She stated on her Facebook page, “It’s not just an election... it is a movement to build a stronger Tampa that works for every- one!”
There are three candidates who qualified for the District IV seat.
Bill Carlson is co-founder of Cafe Con Tampa, a non- profit organization that gathers neighborhood and community leaders on Friday mornings. He is a longtime activist in South Tampa.

A civic activist, Lee Lowry
is the only woman running in the race for District IV. She is a fundraiser for the Hillsborough
