This week’s Beauty Unlimited feature, Sara, knows it will take more than what the others are doing to be successful. Her very presence invites people to want to get closer to her, but she’s very careful about who she lets into her inner circle. Sara said it’s only the beginning, and she’s prepared for the real hard work that lies ahead. Congratulations to Sara as this week’s Beauty Unlimited feature.
Eight Deputies Took Unauthorized Photos Of Kobe's Crash Site
KOBE BRYANT
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has re- vealed that eight deputies were allegedly involved in tak- ing graphic photos of the crash that took the lives of Kobe and Gianna Bryant as well as seven others, ac- cording to ABC 7.
The deputies have deleted the photos and are facing in- vestigation in addition to po- tential disciplinary action. An attorney for Vanessa Bryant revealed that she had specifi- cally gone to the Sheriff’s of- fice the day of the crash to make sure the crash was sealed off from photographers to protect the privacy of the victims.
Villanueva stated that while it may be against de- partment policy it is not against the law. He’s working with Sacramento lawmakers to make the practice a crime. Additionally, he’s working to strengthen the department’s policies around taking pic- tures at a crime scene.
Regardless of the legality, it’s disgusting that the pic- tures exist in the first place. Nine people, children among them, lost their lives in hor- rific fashion.
As officers of the law, they’re supposed to follow at least some baseline of respect. Instead, these eight men de- cide to make a spectacle of the tragedy. Taking the picture is disgusting enough, the fact that these men allegedly shared the pictures as well just makes it worse.
Lakers Assert Status As West's Top Team With Strong Win Over Clippers
With a 112-103 win over their crosstown rivals on Sun- day, the Los Angeles Lakers sent a message.
They will likely be favored against the Los Angeles Clip- pers in a hypothetical playoff series, and they will be play- ing nothing but home games while doing it.
The Lakers demonstrated as much with their first win of the season against the Clip- pers, pulling away in the third quarter and keeping their op- ponent at bay in the fourth. Despite it technically being a Clippers home game, Staples Center was clearly partisan for the Lakers.
Anthony Davis led the way with 30 points and eight rebounds, while LeBron James had 28 points, nine assists and seven rebounds.
Paul George led the Clippers with 31 and Kawhi Leonard had 27.
As with most big wins, the Lakers needed a third player to step up, and this time it was Avery Bradley. He posted a season-high 24 points and strong defense against the Clippers’ deep backcourt.
Lakers’ Best Weekend Of The Season
Between Sunday’s win and
LEBRON JAMES AND KAWHI LEONARD
Friday’s romp against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Lakers have notched back-to-back wins over teams they were a total of 0-3 against entering this weekend. The team is now 49-13, with a 6.5-game lead over the Clippers for the top seed in the Western Con- ference.
That’s a very good week- end, one that could possibly cement the team as title fa- vorites entering the playoffs. Lakers center JaVale McGee certainly seems to think the team is there.
From ESPN:
"It was very important," McGee said when asked to put the Lakers' win over their Staples Center cohabitants into perspective. "Just to quiet the doubters.
"The Lake Show [is] the best team in the world right now."
     Patrick Mahomes
 Makes Claim That Will
Scare NFL Defenses
Patrick Mahomes is probably the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL. He’s a danger with his legs and makes throws few others can.
So how can he gets even more dangerous? By improv- ing how well he reads de- fenses. That is a skill that Mahomes claims he only really picked up midway through the 2019 season.
Just for context, suppos- ing Mahomes is telling the truth, he threw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns in his first full NFL season with- out being able to read the finer points of an NFL de- fense.
PATRICK MAHOMES
Mahomes, it seems, has room to grow. He’s a Super Bowl champion at 24, and hasalongwaytogo.Bythe sounds of it, we should ex- pect him to be even better going forward as he gains ex- perience like this.
