changing the
name and marketing image of the 131-year-old Aunt Jemima pancake mix and syrup. The new packaging will hit shelves by the fourth quarter of 2020. The company will announce the new name at a later date.
“As we work to make progress to- ward racial equality through several initiatives, we also must take a hard look at our portfolio of brands and ensure they reflect our values and meet our consumers’ expectations,” said Kristin Kroepfl of Quaker Foods North America. “We recognize Aunt Jemima’s origins are based on a racial stereotype. While work has been done over the years to update the brand in a manner intended to be appropriate and respectful, we real- ize those changes are not enough.”
Fulton County District Attor- ney Paul L. Howard, Jr. an- nounce his charging decision in the fatal police shooting of 27- year-old Rayshard Brooks, ac- cording to a statement from his office.
The district attorney held a news conference to reveal if he intends to charge Garrett Rolfe, the former Atlanta officer who shot Brooks, and fellow of- ficer Devin Brosnan who was also present during the fatal shooting.
Brooks was killed by two gunshot wounds to the back, the Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled Sunday. The manner of death was ruled a homicide, CBS in Atlanta reports.
Brooks, 27, was killed Friday night during a struggle with the pair, who were dispatched after a Wendy’s customer reported that a man was sleeping in his car in the drive-through.

LOS ANGELES — Federal authorities will review local in- vestigations into the hanging deaths of two black men in Southern California to deter- mine whether federal law was violated, officials said Monday.
Local authorities have said there is no evidence of foul play in the deaths of Robert Fuller in Palmdale and Malcolm Harsch in Victorville and early indications point both to suicide, but sheriffs have pledged to continue to investi- gate the cases.
Monday’s announcement fol- lows weekend protests, which were prompted by the initial determination of suicide as the likely cause of death for Fuller.
People who participated in a town hall hosted by Los Ange- les County Sheriff Alex Vil- lanueva on Monday also voiced concerns that Fuller and Harsch may have been lynched. The callers denounced what they described as a rush to judgment and urged investi- gators to look into the possibil- ity that hate crimes were committed.
