Mother Of Slain Tampa Man Wants Justice
BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
Mrs. Eranetta Adger believes that several people were present when her son died. Raphael Adger died on May 25th, after being shot three times. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is joining her in her quest for justice.
The shooting took place in the Del Rio Apartments, in the 5000 block of E. Sligh Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Adger suffer- ing from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Tampa General Hos- pital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
Detectives believe that a traffic accident that took place near the scene is connected with the murder. The occupants of the dark blue Nis- san Sentra fled the scene before po-

lice arrived.
Based on video evidence, detec-
tives believe that three men were traveling in that vehicle prior to the shooting.
After learning of her son’s death, Mrs. Adger traveled to Tampa from Mississippi. “No one will come forward to say they witnessed the shooting. Detectives are doing all they can to locate these three men.
“I’m praying these guys will come forward. I’m speaking out be- cause my son can’t speak from the grave. I am his mouthpiece. My son was running for his life when he was killed. My family wants justice,” she said.
Mrs. Adger said she went to the scene of the murder and was told that there were about 30 peo- ple out there the night of the shoot- ing.
She was told that her son had gotten into an argument and physi- cal fight with a man. She further
said her son walked away.
The Adger family moved to
Tampa in 1995 and Raphael at- tended the public schools of Hills- borough County. He was the middle child of three children born to James and Eranetta Adger.
Raphael attended King High School, but didn’t graduate. He en- tered the workforce and became an entrepreneur, selling CDs and working at Temporary Job Agen- cies.
A member of Jesus Saves Through Faith Church Of God The Bible Way of the Apostolic Faith, he loved talking to people, his mother said.
Mrs. Adger said she hopes someone will come forward and provide some information in the case. “I’m praying justice will be done for my son.”
