MRS. BESSIE LEE YOUNG BECKHAM ‘PIE’
Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Lee Young Beckham, “Pie,” 84, who passed away on May 28, 2016, will be held on Friday, June 10th, at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church Of West Tampa, 1302 N. Willow Av- enue. Pastor Rayford Harper, Eulogist.
Mrs. Beckham was born on August 15, 1931, in Live Oak, the 2nd of 11 children born to Eugene Young, Sr., and Mary Bell Ashley Young.
She attended the public schools of Live Oak, and grad- uated from Richardson High School in 1951. She later at- tended Tennessee State Uni- versity and Florida A & M University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education from Florida A & M University, and later become certified in Edu- cation.
Mrs. Beckham taught for 32 years in the Hillsborough County School System at Dun- bar and Forest Hills Elemen- tary Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mary Bell Young, 4 brothers, Charlie, John Henry, David, and Eugene, Jr.; 2 sisters, Josie Young Meeks, and Myr- tis Young Allen; 1 daughter, Gretchen Beckham Hunter; and her husband of 35 years, Robert L. Beckham, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory 3 daughters, Wanda (Robert), Gwendolyn, and La- zora (Thomas); 2 sons, C. Dou- glas Beckham and Robert Beckham, Jr., 3 sisters, Alma Kicklighter (Samuel), Edna Mae Honer and Janie J. Brown; 1 brother, Leslie E. Young (Alice); 1 brother-in- law, Rev. Otis Allen; and a host of grandchildren, great-grand- children, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Beckham loved spend- ing time with family and after retiring spent much of her time at her second home in Live Oak, with her parents and siblings. Bessie was an active member of First Baptist Church of West Tampa, where she served as the Church Sec- retary for 25 years. She was also a founding member of the North Hyde Park Civic Associ- ation. Due to failing health, Mrs. Beckham spent her final years in St. Petersburg.

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Ruby Jewel Gordon, who passed away May 14, 2016, will be held Saturday, June11,2016at2p.m.at Harmon Funeral Home, 5002 N. 40th St., Tampa, 33610, with Rev. Richard Woodberry, officiating. In- terment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 Chelsea St., Tampa, 33610.
Mrs. Gordon was born in Cordelle, Georgia and was a resident of Tampa for many years.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Willie Bell Williams; father, Alvin Bunch and Brother, Dennis Ear Williams, Sr.; grand- daughter, Tonetha Rayell La’Shawn Lewis, grand- mother, Artheen Hair.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and de- voted daughter, Vonete Gor- don (Travaris Nesebitt) and loving son, Anthony Ray Lewis, Sr.; 1 brother, James Hope; 1 sister, Lora (Regi- nald) Showers; 2 grand- daughters, Ulesia Harris and Johnesia Wright (Askiew, Sr.); 5 grandsons: Ricky Fra- zier, Rico Frazier, Anthony Lewis, Jr., and Tonetho Lewis, Anshon Lewis; 3 great-grand daughters: Ramiah Massie, Hailey Green, A’aliyah Harris; 3 great-grandsons: Keywan, Christopher Pope, Jr., Ra- heem Askiew, Jr.; neices: Shalonda and Quendlum, Ashley, Ladasha, Drenna, Dicie, Jackie, Jeany, Danielle, Sarah, Melissa, Ucille and Johnnie Mae, and Lacquilla; nephews, Dennis and Vincent, Rashaad, Carmello, Dennis, III, Devin, Tevin, Carmelo, Rashard, Aiden; very loyal and devoted friends, Brenda, Yvonne, Alice and Regina Britt; a host of great-nieces: Dyaniqua, De’viana, Ne’vaeh, Lillie, Pennisha, Andrika, Taliyah, Ashaelle, Aniyah, Skylar; Ashley, Angela, Alicia, Za- mara; a host of over 100 sor- rowing cousins and other relatives and family friends.
Visitation for Mrs. Ruby Jewel Gordon will be held this Friday evening from 5 p. m. until 8 p. m. at Harmon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 p. m. until 8 p. m. The proces- sional will arrange at the chapel on Saturday at 1:45 p. m.

A celebration of life serv- ice for Ms. Laverne Nicole “Nikki” Gulley will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa, Apostle Mark T. Jones, Sr., Pastor with Pastor Eddie Boles, Of- ficiating.
On May 28th, 2016, God called His Angel, Laverne Nicole “Nikki” Gulley home to rest in His presence.
Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Gulley left behind to carry on her legacy of love and friendship three chil- dren, Za’Nikeleashia Ricks, Timothy Hicks, Jr., and Gre- gory Milledge, Jr.; mother, Clara Bell Hunt-Gulley; sis- ter, Sherry Gulley; brother, Emanuel Gulley, IV; niece and nephews, Jaliyah Gulley, Kaneal Green, Johnnie Golfin, III, as well as a host of other love ones and ex- tended family.
A native of Tampa, Ms. Gulley had resided in the Bay Area all of her life.
There will be a viewing on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Wil- son Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., in the chapel.
Friends are asked to as- semble at the church at ap- proximately 10:45 a.m. on Saturday for the service.

MR. DEVONTAY D. HORTON
Funeral services for Mr. Devontay D. Horton, 21, will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11 a.m., at Brown Memorial Church of God In Christ, 2313 East 27th Av- enue, Tampa, where Bishop Matthew Williams is the pas- tor, and Elder N. Woody will be officiating.
Interment will be in Or- ange Hill Cemetery.
Devontay was a native of Tampa, and attended the public schools of Hillsbor- ough County. He was a good man with a very loving heart for people. He had a jovial spirit that kept others laugh- ing. He loved his family.
Devontay leaves to cher- ish his memories: a set of loving parents, Sharon Hor- ton and Eric Wallace, Sr.; brothers, Eric Wallace, Jr., Thomas Tillman Joseph Wallace Terrance Tillman and Bishop Wallace; sisters, Attaliah Sanders, Erieona Wallace, Tomesha Tillman Wayneisha Wallace, Milriah Tillman, and Imani Wallace; grandmother, Rebecca Wal- lace; a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, great uncles, and great aunts.

Homegoing celebration for Ms. Lynda Kaye Filer, who passed on May 25, 2016, will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016, 11 a. m., at Ex- citing Faith Alive Church, 5705 E. 32nd Ave., Tampa (33619), with Pastor Antonio R. Hawkins, pastor, Elder W. Johnson, eulogist.
A repast will follow the service in the church’s fel- lowship hall.
Lynda, 56, was born Au- gust 10, 1959, to parents, Al- bert Filer and Charity Currington, in Tampa.
Lynda, who was a talka- tive, fierce, hardworking, loving person, was known to put family and loved ones before herself. She leaves to cherish fond memories: sons, Darren Filer and Re- nall and Nijehl Day; sisters, Cheryl Sutton, Thelma Burt; half-sister, Mami Filer; brothers-in-law, Brad Sut- ton and James Burt; niece, Latoya Westbrooks; nephews, Adrian Sutton and Julian Sutton; grandchil- dren, Darius Filer, Donovan Filer, Jordan Filer, Kaiden Day, and Kh’liyah Day.
Her love and generosity crossed bloodlines to also include: Ruby Youngblood, sister at heart; godson, Frank Floyd; grandchildren of the heart, Willie Wilson, Jr., Missy Youngblood. Also amongst those who will miss her are a host of cousins; sorrowing relatives and dear friends.
Our dear Lynda will be sorely missed, but never for- gotten.
Popular Tampan Dies
A well known West Tampa native died fol- lowing an unforeseen ac- cident on May 24, 2016.
Ms. Deborah Grace Styles has lived in Tampa over 60 years. She at- tended the local schools of Hillsborough County and was a member of Howard W. Blake, Class of 1970.
Ms. Styles was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016, at 6 p.m., at Ray Williams Funeral
