Man Indicted For Trafficking In Illegal Equipment
Cocaine Sale Gets Man
6 Years,
Man Faces Second Degree Murder Charge

upon arrival.
During the course of the
investigation, police con- tacted Jermaine Brad- ford, 34, of St. Petersburg to come to the station for an interview on Monday. After the interview was con- cluded, Bradford was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder.
Police did not release any information about what happened between the two men that led up to the shooting.
The U. S. government has indicted a Tampa man for trafficking in credit card manufacturing equipment. He is currently being held in jail in Jacksonville.
According to a press re- lease, if Joseph Xavier Murphy, 29, is convicted of the charge he is facing a max- imum of 15 years in federal prison.

The St. Petersburg Police Department has arrested a man in connection with a murder that took place at 1834 49th Street South. The shooting took place last Sat- urday.
According to police, George Hall, 37, of St. Pe- tersburg, was identified as the victim. His body was dis- covered at the residence around 2:30 a.m., Saturday. He had been shot several times. Hall was pronounced deceased at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital
Convicted Felon Pleads To Having Guns, Ammunition

A 33-year-old St. Peters- burg man was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in fed- eral prison. He pleaded guilty to selling drugs on January 5, 2017.
According to court docu- ments, Marquell Romell Brown, a.k.a. “Fat,” sold cocaine and hydromorphone to a confidential informant and undercover officer on several occasions. During the execution of a search warrant at his home, police recovered quantities of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, and hydro- morphone.
At sentencing, Brown was held accountable for dis- tributing or possessing with the intent to distribute 43 grams of crack cocaine, 281.3 grams of cocaine, and 167 hy- dromorphone pills.
A 41-year-old man en- tered a guilty plea to being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. He is facing a maximum of 10 years in federal prison.
According to court docu- ments, Aaron Clinton Westbrooks, of Tampa, had been convicted of several felonies and was aware that he could not have possession of firearms and ammunition. However, he is accused of selling handguns and ammu- nition on three separate occa- sions to an undercover

Judge Gives Inmate 15 Years For Stabbing Officers
Juveniles Sought
U. S. District Judge William Terrell Hodges extended the sentence of a federal prisoner on Wednes- day. He was convicted of at- tacking two correctional officers while at Coleman Federal Correctional Institu- tion.
Judge Hodges sen- tenced Todd Shepard, 49, of Missouri, to 15 years for the forcible attack on a fed- eral officer, inflicting bodily injury, and using a deadly weapon.
Shepard cannot begin to serve the new sentence until he completes his current sen- tences. Shepard pleaded guilty to the charges on Jan- uary 27, 2017.
According to court docu- ments, in September, 2015, Shepard was serving a drug distribution sentence at Cole- man C. I. and was not slated to be released until 2029. He was also being held on a sep- arate state sentence of life in prison for the 1008 murder of

On September 18, 2015, Shepard ambushed and stabbed two federal correc- tions officers with a sharp- ened piece of metal. Before being subdued, Shepard re- peatedly shouted threats to kill the officers.
During an interview with federal agents, he admitted that he had attacked the offi- cers in an attempt to draw at- tention to a recent loss of prisoner recreation time.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a group of juveniles respon- sible for breaking into cars. They are wanted in connec- tion with the burglaries of between 10 and 15 vehicles.
Police said the burglaries took place during the early morning hours of April 17th, in the Westchase area of town. The teenagers arrived in a white, 2013-2017 Audi A4. During the burglaries, the suspects were able to ob- tain keys to a gray 2012 Lexus RX300 and a white 2001 BMW 528I and fled with the vehicles.
