Lawsuit Against The Weeknd Dismissed
THE WEEKND
Abęl Makkonen Tesfaye aka The Weeknd has reached a settlement in the legal battle accusing him of stealing music and screwing them out of roy- alties and the entire case against the singer has been dis- missed.
A U.K based company named Cutting Edge Music filed a federal lawsuit against singer The Weekend and Universal Music.
The company deals with providing financing to motion pictures and acquires interest in film compositions and sound recordings. It then ex- ploits the film score catalog it owns to make a ton of money.
They explained they are the exclusive licensee and adminis- trator of the song recording en- titled, “The Machine” composed by world famous Tom Raybould – which was then used in the 2013 film by the same name.
City Councilman Wants To Shutdown Studio Where Bankroll Fresh Was Murdered
BANKROLL FRESH
Rising Atlanta rapper
Trentavious “Bankroll Fresh” White lost his life on March 4. The “Hot Boy” spit- ter was shot while at Street Execs Studios, and police found more than 50 shell cas- ings at the scene.
Residents of the area where the studio, Street Execs is lo- cated are concerned about the violence. Charley Jabaley, the studio’s owner, faced criti- cism from the Underwood Hills Neighborhood Associa- tion in the past, and one At- lanta City councilman, Andre Dickens, that lives in the neighborhood now wants the studio shut down.
There have been reports of a higher level of criminal activ- ity in the area since Street Execs opened. The complaints included shootings, assaults, car break-ins, and other al- leged crimes.
Street Execs Studios has provided recording space for artists such as 2 Chainz, Travis Porter, Young Dolph, and Cap1.

He’s now an investor in Brooklyn-based company Exo, which makes protein bars that is a food product that contains crickets.
The company recently se- cured $4 million in their first round of funding, which in- cluded Nasty Nas. Their total funding closed at $5.6.

sity, started their company after reading that world hunger could be solved by eating insects.
Last year 50 Cent filed for bankruptcy, but a judge has ordered him to explain how he is posing in pictures on In- stagram with stacks and stacks of money, when he claims to be broke.
In response, 50 Cent said that the cash used in the im- ages is not real. Last month Judge Ann Nevins ordered 50 Cent, born Curtis
James Jackson III, to ex- plain pictures he has posted to Instagram of himself playing with large amounts of money, including one image in which he has spelled out the word “broke” with stacks of cash.
The pictures, Nevins pointed out, have cast serious doubts as to the veracity of Jackson’s bankruptcy claims.
Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip

Q-Tip has been anointed as the new director of Hip- Hop Culture at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
On Tuesday, the center announced Q-Tip will be a part of the coveted institution as Hip-Hop becomes a regu- lar programming.
Q-Tip is a founding mem- ber of pioneering rap group A Tribe Called Quest.
Manny Faces, The Cen- ter for Hip-Hop Advocacy Ex- ecutive Director, issued a statement on the well-re- cieved move.
“We applaud the Kennedy

Boyz II Men’s Wanya, Kim Fields And 2 NFLers Set For Dancing With The Stars

Mark Walberg And Caron Butler To Make Movie
MARK WAHLBERG AND CARON BUTLER
Dancing With the Stars has unveiled its season 22 celebrity-professional dancer pairings during Good Morning America on Tues- day.
And the rumors were true — Real Housewives of At-
lanta’s Kim Fields has snagged a spot and is paired up with Sasha Farber.
Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris will also be on the upcoming season, along with NFL’ers Antonio Brown and Von Miller.
NBA Champion and Sacramento Kings Forward Caron Butler is about to stretch his ad- mirable journey from the streets to the NBA just a bit further into Hollywood proper.
To the delight of NBA fans everywhere, Butler has inked a deal with A-list Hol- lywood big hitter, actor/pro- ducer Mark Wahlberg to make his memoir “Tuff Juice: My Journey From The Streets to The NBA,” into a major motion picture.
With Caron’s memoir al- ready having earned high praise, it would seem to be
the logically step that Butler’s friend and associate Wahlberg would look at the book not only as an inspirational read, but also as a great story for the big screen.
Butler, who first met and became friends with Wahlberg in 2011 during his days as a Los Angeles Clipper, was initially sur- prised by the idea of making his memoir into a movie when it was first suggested to him by Wahlberg. Never- theless, once Butler realized what Wahlberg wanted to do, he was anything but slow on the uptake.
