Quarrel Leads To Fatal Stabbing
Apartment Fire Claims Life Of Mother, 2 Children
A 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing. He was charged with first-degree murder, resisting arrest with- out violence, and criminal mischief.
According to the Tampa Police Department, Ben- jamin Andino and the unidentified woman were in the 2300 block of W. Spruce on Monday. Shortly after 7 p.m., they became engaged in a verbal altercation. At some point during the argument, Andino is alleged to have at- tacked the woman with a knife, stabbing her several times.
The victim died as a result of the attack. Police have not determined what the argu- ment was about.

Andino and the woman knew each other. Both also had apartments in the com- plex, but did not live together.
When police arrived at the location, Andino fled the scene on foot. He was caught after a short foot chase and taken into custody.
Investigators are still try- ing to determine the cause of a fire that left three people dead. The fire occurred at the Captiva Apartments, 4541 Castaway Drive, Wednesday morning.
According to police, the Hillsborough County Fire Department responded to the 2 alarm blaze around 3:30 a.m. When firemen ar- rived at the scene, the flames were penetrating the roof of the eight-unit building. One wall had already collapsed when the firemen arrived. It took them 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.
Once they were able to enter the building, they dis- covered the bodies of a mother and her two children. All three had died. Police have not released the iden- tity of the family. However,

witnesses told police that the mother had exited the build- ing and thought her children were behind her. When she didn’t locate them, she went back into the burning build- ing to get them.
At least 12 residents have been displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hillsborough County Sher- iff’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The Largo Police Depart- ment have upgraded charges against a man arrested last week in connection with a shooting. He is now facing a charge of second-degree mur- der as well as two counts of attempted first-degree mur- der.
According to police, offi- cers responded to the Whis- pering Palms Apartments, 601 16th Avenue, SE, in refer- ence to gunshots. When they arrived, they discovered that two women had been injured by gunfire. A man had been shot at, but was not injured.
The women were trans- ported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. One of the women, identified as 59-year-old Marguerite
KENNETH JAMES PRINCE
Williams, died as a result of her injuries.
Kenneth James Prince, 40, has been charged in connection with the shooting. He is being held at the Pinellas County Jail.
