Opening Night Of The 79th Annual Conference Of The African Methodist Episcopal Church
The 79th Session of the African Methodist Episcopal Conference of the 11th Episcopal District was held October 22-25, 2019 at Tampa Allen Temple AME Church, Rev. Dr. Glenn Dames, Jr., Senior Pastor.
The Conference kicked off on Sunday afternoon with a parade honoring Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Jr., Episcopal Bishop of the 11th District. He was the Parade Grand Marshal.
This was Bishop Richardson’s final Conference to oversee, as he is retiring next year.

These ladies who attended the 79th Session of the AME Conference are: Shye Boston, Laureen Gemster, Moreena Daniels and Loretta Carles.
AME members at the service were: Patsy Greene, Cheryl Wash- ington and Pauline Mobley.
Former Tampan, now of Los Angeles, CA, J-Vonne Lucus, was in town during the Conference visiting family and friends.
First Lady LaShonda Gay and Pastor Gregory Gay of Mt. Olive AME Church, West Tampa, were at the Opening Night event.
Members of Bethel AME Church, St. Petersburg, in atten- dance were: Ralph and Earline Gilbert.
