Ice Cube Issues Challenge To Damian Lillard
ICE CUBE
Rapper/businessman Ice Cube issued a challenge to Damian Lillard.
Cube, real name O’Shea Jackson, is a big Los Angeles Lakers fan. He appeared on Stephen A. Smith’s show on Friday and was asked what ad- vice he would give Lillard re- garding the Portland guard’s future.
“If you want a champi- onship, he should come join the Lakers,” Cube told Smith. “If you want to just score a lot of points and be the man, stay in Portland. But come win a championship. You deserve it. He’s given a lot to that city. So give some of that love to the L.A. Lakers, man.”

Monty Williams com- plained about the foul call dis- parity in Game 3 on Sunday night after his Phoenix Suns lost 120-100 to the Bucks in Milwaukee. Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetok- oumpo scored 41 points with 13 rebounds.
The Bucks attempted 26 free throws in the game com- pared to 16 for Williams’ Suns. The difference is some- thing Williams mentioned in his postgame press confer- ence.
The guy on Milwaukee who had 17 attempts was Gi- annis Antetokounmpo. Giannis has been struggling

with his free throw shooting in the postseason, which is why it’s a sound strategic move to put him at the line. But at home, where he isn’t being heckled, Antetokoun- mpo made 13 of his 17 at- tempts (76.5 percent).

Charles Barkley Lost $100,000 Betting On Himself In Golf Tournament
 Congressional Investigation
Sha’Carri Richard- son’s suspension from the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games has shaken up the sports world. Now, it seems that Congress is also involved.
On July 2, Rep. Jaime Raskin (D-MD), chairman of the House Oversight Subcom- mittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, penned a letter to the United States Anti-Dop- ing Agency regarding Sha’Carri Richardson and the agency’s decision to sus- pend her from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
“This punishment, which is not supported by any scien- tific evidence, may prevent Ms. Richardson from com- peting in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics just after she in- spired the country with her performance in the Olympic Trials last month,” Raskin says in the letter.
“We urge you to reconsider the policies that led to this and other suspensions for recre- ational marijuana use, and to

Charles Barkley was more confident than ever in his golf game heading into the American Century Champi- onship in Lake Tahoe this year, and the Hall of Famer put his money where his mouth was in a big way. Un- fortunately, he didn’t play quite as well as he expected.
Barkley was minus-7 after his first round on Friday, which is not good in this con- text. The American Century Championship uses a modi-
fied Stable- ford scoring system where you get posi- tive points for a par or bet- ter, 0 points for a bogey and -2 points for a double-

reconsider Ms. Richard- son’s suspension. Please strike a blow for civil liberties and civil rights by reversing this course you are on.”
In a press release on last Friday, USADA CEO Travis T. Tygart reiterated that “the rules are clear.”
“The rules are clear, but this is heartbreaking on many levels; hopefully, her accept- ance of responsibility and apology will be an important example to us all that we can successfully overcome our re- grettable decisions, despite the costly consequences of this one to her.”
If you’ve ever tried to get a swim cap over your natural hair, you know the struggle. SOUL CAP, a Black-owned swim company, designed a cap to address that issue and easily cover heads with thicker, curlier and more textured hair.
The federation for interna- tional competitions in water sports has denied SOUL CAP certification for wear during competitive swimming events.
FINA denied the caps, claiming that to their “best knowledge, the athletes com- peting at the international events never used, neither re- quire to use, caps of such size and configuration.”
FINA continued by describ- ing the caps as unsuitable be- cause they don’t follow the natural form of the head.
SOUL CAP founders Toks Ahmed and Michael Chap- man shared their disappoint- ment in FINA’s ruling, calling it a “failure to acknowledge the diversity of competitive swim- mers.” They note the ruling is particularly disheartening in a year when there has been an increase in swimmers from ethnic backgrounds qualifying for the Olympics.

bogey or worse. After that round, Barkley revealed in an interview with ESPN that he bet $100,000 on himself to finish in the top 70.
The fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirer was short-lived, as McGregor had to bow after suffering a major ankle injury in the first round of the fight.
Floyd Mayweather took to social media to thank Dustin Poirier for helping him win a major bet he placed on the fight.
Via Instagram, May- weather thanked Poirier for helping him win over $35,000 on a $50,000 bet he placed. Mayweather went on to say, “@dustinpoirier, thanks for getting me paid!” Although the fight was called after McGregor’s injury,

Poirier won the fight, with the scorecards reading 10- 8,10-8, and 10-9 before the ref ended the match. This comes after Jake Paul was seen taunting McGregor, creating a $100,000 chain of McGregor previously being knocked out by Dustin Poirer.
