RAY WILLIAMS
MR. JERRY L. REID
Mr. Jerry L. Reid of Wimauma, Florida, passed away Monday, December 16, 2019. Fu- neral services will be conducted Saturday, December 28th, at 2 p. m. at Impact Church, 207 New Hope Road, Brandon, FL 33511, with Pastor Tom Garrett, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Jerry L. Reid was a native and lifelong resident of the Tampa Bay/Wimauma Area. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Gaither High School. He was employed as a Truck Driver at the Salvation Army.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Kassandra Reid.
He leaves to cherish his mem- ory: father, Frank Crawford; grandmother, Trudie Reid; grandfather, Jerry Bush, Sr.; his biological father, Jerry Bush, Jr.; siblings, LaShuntia “Tay” Bush, Tatianna Bush, Taja Bush, Joce- lyn Crawford, Justin Walden, DeDe Walton and Deontae Sav- age; 10 nephews, Elijah, Keyshawn, Keion, Dezmond, Dante, Jr., Paden, Carter, Justin, Jr., Rachaun, and DeKavion; 2 nieces, Zyon and Riyae; uncles, James T. Reid, Ernest Edward Reid, Crundell, Vincent, Corey, Johnny, Glenn Bush, and Dwight Bush; aunts, Barbara Howard, Carla Tommie and Martrie Bush; and a host of other relatives and friends.

MRS. BEATRICE PETERMAN SMOTHERMAN SHAW
A Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Beatrice Peterman Smotherman Shaw, of Tampa, who passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019, will be held Saturday, De- cember 28th, at 11 a. m. at Shekinah Glory Cathedral COGIC, 402 West English St., Plant City, 33563, Rev. A. D. Shaw, Senior Pastor, officiat- ing. Interment will be held in Florida National Cemetery, Bush- nell, FL, Monday, December 30th.
Lady Bea as she is affection- ately called, was born May 17, 1945, in Newark, N. J., to the late Mrs. Annie B. Peterman Rouse, who predeceased her in 1952. Beatrice moved to Tampa, where she was raised by her devoted Aunt Effie Lee Peterman Hicks and Uncle Joseph Hicks. Lady Bea attended Hillsborough County Schools until she graduated from Middleton Senior High School in 1963. Lady Bea returned to the Virginia, Washington, D. C. area, lived there with her family, and started her 35 years and four months, of dedi- cated Federal government service, beginning August 31, 1967. Her dis- tinguished career included em- ployment with the U. S. Department of Navy, Smithsonian Institution, Veterans Administra-
tion, U. S. Department of State, Bu- reau of Public Affairs, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, Di- rector General of the Foreign Serv- ice and Director of Human Resources.
After retirement, Lady Bea re- turned to Florida and she joined Allen Temple A. M. E. Church and remained a member there until she transitioned to be home with our Lord.
She leaves to cherish her mem- ory: her loving and devoted hus- band, George E. Shaw, Zephyrhills, FL; her loving sons, Kevin Smoth- erman of Quantico, VA, and William Smotherman and wife, Loretta of Land O Lakes, FL; step- sons, Craig Rosato and Pastor A. D. Shaw and wife, Lady Mechon; grandchildren, Julianne Smother- man, Kevin Smotherman, Sydney Pellerin, Felicia Smotherman, Melody Smotherman, Akem Smotherman, Alicia Smotherman, and Ashley Smotherman; her brothers, Percy Peterman, Cliff- wood Beach, NJ and Cephus Peter- man, Cliffwood Beach, NJ (deceased); niece, Nazila Winfrey and husband, Omar Winfrey, Swedesboro, NJ; and nephew, Vance Peterman and wife, Debo- rah, Wesley Chapel, FL; sister-in- law, Jacqueline Shaw Johnson and husband, Dr. Herman J. Johnson, Apopka, FL; her dearest, closest, and long time very best friends, Beverly and Soloman James, Litho- nia, GA, Appleonia Mendoza, Eu- nice Butts, Shelia Cash-Carter, Dr. Elaine Lee, Tampa, FL, Chasity and James Evans, Griffin, GA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Lady Bea will be Friday, December 27th, from 5:30 p. m. to 7:30 p. m., at Shekinah Glory Cathedral, 402 West English St., Plant City, 33563.
Remains will repose one hour prior to service time, Saturday morning, 10 a. m. at the church.

MR. NAPOLEON B. WRIGHT
Mr. Napoleon B. Wright of Tampa passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. Funeral serv- ices will be conducted Saturday, December 28th, at 11 a. m. at Northside M. B. Church, 5706 N. 40th Street, with Reverend Ri- cardo Robinson, officiating. In- terment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Napoleon B. Wright was a native and lifelong resident of Tampa, Florida, born the third of eight children to Mr. Alpheria Lee Wright, Sr. and Victoria Rayford Wright. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County. Mr. Wright was a part of the Lighthouse Forever Free Mis- sion of Tampa, FL, an organiza- tion that served the poor. He was self- employed as a Landscaper and Handyman before becoming disabled. Napoleon was well known for working in the promo- tional entertainment field, where he developed friendships with the late Rudy Ray Moore and the late Bernie Mac, as well as others. He loved to listen to music, playing checkers and dominos, and talk- ingtopeople-noonewasa stranger to him.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Victoria Rayford Wright; brother, Benjamin F. Wright, Sr.
The union of Napoleon and Janna Jackson produced a daugh- ter whom he leaves to cherish his memories: daughter, Janna Victo- ria “Vicky” Jackson, Tampa, FL; stepson, Russell Adams, Jr., Tampa; father, Alpheria Lee Wright, Sr.; two brothers, Norma L. Wright, Sr. (Kathy) and Alphe- ria L. Wright, Jr., both of Tampa; four sisters, Ida Barnes, Juanita Bowles, Ossie Oliver (Clinton) and Linda Wright, all of Tampa; aunt, Katherine Brown; uncle, Willie D. Rayford, Williston, FL; special friends, Williams Snyder, Jr., Pastors David and Bernadette Corey of the Lighthouse Forever Free Mission; and a host of de- voted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The remains will repose after 5 p. m. Friday, December 27 at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue.

MR. RANDY GERARD CANTY
Mr. Randy Gerard Canty transi- tioned from his life here on earth to his heavenly home on Sunday, De- cember 15, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, De- cember 28th, at 11 a. m., at the First Baptist Church of College Hill, 3838 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida, Minister Perry Sylvain, officiating. The interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa, FL.
Randy, affectionately known as “Kookie,” was born to the parents of Clifford Canty, Jr. and Betty Jean Canty, in Tampa, Florida. He was the youngest son of five children.
Randy was educated in the Hillsborough County School System and graduated from Hillsborough High School, Class of 1981. Randy will be remembered as a person who enjoyed being with his family and friends; and, especially enjoyed a “cool and easy” time, never stress- ing about too much.
Randy leaves to cherish his beloved memories: a loving, dedi- cated mother, Betty Canty; a caring, devoted father, Clifford Canty, Jr.; two brothers: Lenzo Canty (Sharon), and Julian Canty; two sis- ters: Alicia Edwards and Linda Canty; five nephews: Lenzo Canty, Jr., Dhiaa’ Edwards (Leslie), An- drew Canty, Rasool Edwards, and Rorik Williams (Vianca); two nieces: Tamika Mutcherson (Jor- dan), and Nadira Edwards; and a host of cousins, great-nieces, and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
There will be a viewing at the Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, FL on Friday, December 27th, from 5 – 7 p. m. The family will be present to receive friendsfrom6–7p.m.
