Clerk Shoots Robber Armed With BB Gun
Tampa Minister Charged With Sexual Battery

A 63-year-old Tampa minister was arrested on Feb- ruary 6th and charged with sexual battery on a minor. He was arrested at his residence.
According to police, David Paul Carson, is ac- cused of sexual battery on a 14-year-old girl.
Carson is the pastor of In My Father’s House Church, and is listed as fulltime Ad- junct teacher at Hillsborough Community College.
His bond was set at $100,000.
Burglary Suspect Dies After Being Stabbed
A 36-year-old man is re- covering at a local hospital after being shot in the leg. He was shot by a store clerk early Friday.
According to the Tampa Police Department, around 3 a.m., Friday, a man went into the Sunoco Gas Station, 3401 E. Hillsborough Avenue. The man allegedly displayed a weapon and robbed the busi- ness at gunpoint.
The clerk, identified as Ali Alsadi, 40, of Seffner, armed himself and fired at the sus- pect, hitting him twice. The bullets struck the suspect in the leg. The man, identified as Antonio Lee, ran and Al- sadi chased him.
When police arrived, Lee
A 23-year-old man died Sunday after being stabbed. He allegedly forced his way into an apartment and was stabbed by the occupant.
According to police, offi- cers responded to 545 77th Av- enue, N. #108, in reference to a stabbing. When officers ar- rived, they discovered that Zachery Eggleston had been stabbed. He and Jonathan Garcia, 29, were both transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Police said during their in- vestigation, they learned Eggleston and the victim, Jonathan Garcia, 29, live in the same complex. Eggleston

which was
occupied by
Garcia, his
girlfriend,

daughter, around 1:30 a.m. The two men became en- gaged in a physical confronta- tion and Eggleston was stabbed. Garcia’s injuries were not released. The investi- gation is continuing, police
said.

Investigators determined that Lee was armed with a BB gun. Alsadi has not been charged in the incident. The investigation is continuing, police said.

14-Year-Old Faces Murder Charge In Fatal Crash

The Pinellas County Sher- iff’s Office arrested a 56-year- old man and charged him with sexual battery on a minor and possession of cocaine. The suspect knows the victim.
According to police, David A. West, of Clearwater, was taken into custody on Sunday. The crime had taken place the day before.
Police launched their in- vestigation after the male vic- tim called 9-1-1. The victim told police he was picked up and sexually battered by West, who was an acquain- tance of his.
Detectives launched their investigation and learned that West had allegedly picked up the teenager and drove him to his residence. While at the res- idence, West is alleged to have told the teenager to take off all of his clothes and forcibly had sexual activity

with him. The victim called 9- 1-1 after the incident took place.
The victim told police he met West a few months ago when he was inquiring about buying a car from West. West is the owner of D &D Auto Center, 1711 Overbrook Av- enue, in Clearwater.
The detectives were able to verify the victim’s statements and arrested West on Sun- day. The investigation is con- tinuing.
MYLES ABBOTT
A 14-year-old was ar- rested last Saturday and charged with vehicular homi- cide. The charge stemmed from an incident that took place in November.
According to the St. Pe- tersburg Police Department, Myles Abbott was the driver of a stolen car that crashed. Alijah Armstead, 15, was a passenger in the ve- hicle.
Police said the car was traveling at a high rate of speed on November 19th. While crossing 40th Avenue, South, the vehicle hit a dip in the road and Abbott lost

control. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a large tree.
As a result of the damage to the 2014 Chevrolet Ca- maro, both boys had to be ex- tricated from the car by Fire Rescue. Both were trans- ported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
Abbott was seriously in- jured and Armstead had life-threatening injuries. Armstead died on January 1st as a result of his injuries.
Abbott was charged with murder because Armstead died during the commission of a felony, police said.
A 26- year-old man was sent to fed- eral prison last week. He pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm as a
convicted EDRICK felon. McCARY
Judge Susan C. Buck- lew handed down a 6-year sentence to Edrick McCary, of Sarasota. McCary pleaded guilty on October 31, 2017.
According to court docu- ments, McCary and two of his associates traveled to a Walmart parking lot to rob a person who was scheduled to arrive with drugs that had been paid for in advance.
Law enforcement, acting on information, arrived in the parking lot and ap- proached McCary and his associates’ car. Police found three firearms in the car, in- cluding a Glock 9mm hand- gun and a Ruger 9mm handgun with a high-capac- ity magazine.
McCary had previously been convicted twice in Florida for possession of co- caine.
