The “1st Annual Juneteenth Pageant” will be a part of sev- eral events planned by the committee to celebrate June- teenth. The pageant will be held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at TPepin Hospitality Centre.
According to the pageant chairperson, Adria John- son, “the pageant will give young ladies the opportunity to be a role model in the com- munity and celebrate culture. At the same time, they will learn more about Juneteenth, an event that you don’t hear much about.
“There will be cash prizes, scholarships and much more for the winners in each cate- gory. The Coalition feels it is important to assist young ladies in their educational as- pirations,” she said.
