  Orlando Gudes Enters The Race For City Council District 5
 Retired police officer and public servant, Orlando Gudes, has decided to repre- sent the City of Tampa on a greater level by running for Frank Reddick’s term-lim- ited seat.
Gudes plans to carry the torch and continue the work of Councilman Reddick while expanding to reach more projects and more resi- dents.
Gudes is filing almost one year to the date of Election Day for the municipal races. When asked why he felt compelled to run for the Dis- trict 5 seat, he stated, “Serving neighborhoods and commu- nities has always been my passion. I worked as a public servant for over 26 years here in the City of Tampa, working with children and families, so I know this City. I know what it needs and I know what it

    Sky U. White Announces Candidacy For Hillsborough County Commission District 7
 Community activist and Tampa native, Sky U. White has announced her candidacy for Hillsborough County Com- mission District 7.
White’s platform centers on diversity and inclusion, eq- uitable housing, climate justice, economical transportation, and increased support for grass- roots organizations.
As a full-time nurse, work- ing mother, owner and Editor- In-Chief of REVIVED, and a community activist, White is an unconventional candidate who is making impactful strides towards establishing herself as a formidable voice, representing Hillsborough County’s under-represented communities.

founded Reborn Tampa, a non- profit organization dedicated to the educational advancement of underprivileged and under-
performing Black youth in Hillsborough County.
The organization hosts free reading programs, back-to- school rallies, civil rights classes, and other workshops to empower and educate the com- munity.
With a countywide commis- sion seat, White will work to ensure that Hillsborough County’s grassroots organiza- tions have a fair chance at ob- taining funding and garnering community and county support for the work that uplifts and empowers the community.
White strongly believes in the power of diversity and in- clusion and equitable housing to elevate the community.
White has been forthright and outspoken in recent con- troversies surrounding the re- moval of the confederate monument in front of the Hills- borough County Annex Court- house.
White is committed to finding and implementing solu- tions for the community and the betterment of Hillsborough County.
