Martin Luther King Parade Foundation
The Martin Luther King Parade Foundation, Inc. 28th Anniversary presented its “Live the Dream Legacy” Inaugural Fundraising Dinner and Gala on Thursday, Jan- uary 5, 2017. The event was held at TPepin Hospitality Centre. Mrs. Sherryl J. Cusseaux was the Chair of the event, Mrs. Jean Collins was Co-Chair and Mr. Ed Narain was honorary chairper- son.
Also participating on the pro- gram were: Walter Niles, Master of Ceremony; Ernest Coney, Jr., Pavonne Scott, Darrious Bryant, Howard Harris (MLK Parade Foundation VP), CG2 En- tertainment, Marlon Boone, Mrs. Yetta Mae Hansell, Tampa Bay Technical High School Drum Line and DJ Patrick Law- son.
The event honored several indi- viduals, including the Co-Parade Marshals, Gwen Hayes and Der- rick Brooks. Legacy Awards were presented posthumously to Mrs. Freddie Jean Cusseaux (her son, Grover Cusseaux, Jr. ac- cepted in her honor), Clarence Fort and Frank Bell, Jr. Other Awards were presented to MLK Honorary Grand Marshals repre- senting branches of the military; and Drum Majors For Justice. Gwen (James) Hayes was one of the 2 MLK Parade Grand Mar- shals.
Representing the Military, 90-year-old John (Mrs. Mary) Isaac was awarded for being a MLK Grand Marshal.
Clarence (Yvonne) Fort received one of the Legacy Honors Awards.
Atty. Delano (Mrs. Atty. Carolyn House) Stewart received the Drum Major For Justice Award.
PastorW.James(Dr.Ann)Favorite,BeulahBaptistIn- stitutional Church, received one of the Drum Major For Justice Awards.
Frank Bell, Jr. (Ms. Patricia Baker) received the MLK Legacy Honors Award.
MLK Grand Marshal Eunice Butts (Tom Marshall), U. S. Air Force/Air Force Reserves.
Antania Dixon received one of the 2 scholarships presented that evening as part of the ‘Give 28 To Help Educate’ campaign. She is a senior at Tampa Bay Tech.
CWO Andria “Andy” (Robert) Wimberly (U. S. Army retired), MLK Grand Marshal.
Another military representative, Capt. Bruce H. (Cassie) Curry (U. S. Navy retired), MLK Grand Mar- shal.
