Gun And Drug Charges Nets Man 20-Year Sentence
WAYNE ‘BAM BAM’ BRODERICK
A federal judge sentenced a Lakeland man to serve time in federal prison earlier this week. He pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and possession of firearms during on February 24, 2015.
U. S. District Judge James D. Whittemore handed down a 20-year sen- tence to 39-year-old Wayne “Bam Bam” Broderick.
According to court docu- ments, the Lakeland Police De- partment searched Broderick’s apartment on February 21, 2014. During the execution of the search war- rant, police found crack co- caine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia consistent with cooking, packaging, and selling crack cocaine. They also found loaded firearms, including a Hi-Point .40 caliber pistol, a Smith & Wesson .357 caliber revolver, a Browning 9mm pis- tol, and ammunition.
Investigators also confis- cated $881 in cash and evi- dence of stolen identity refund fraud, including a ledger of stolen personal identifying in- formation.
The Lakeland Police De- partment executed another search warrant at Broderick’s home on June 27, 2014, after allegedly observing him selling narcotics from his doorway. During that search, they re- portedly found him to be in possession of ammunition, marijuana, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded Springfield Armory M1911 .45 semi-automatic pistol.
Officials said Broderick has been arrested and con- victed several times for drug trafficking offenses, and at least one crime of violence. As a re- sult of criminal record, he is prohibited from possessing guns. The charges he has been convicted of committing also qualified him as a career of- fender.

Tampa Police report that during the evening hours of April 21st through the early morning hours of April 22nd, an unknown suspect broke into 3 vehicles in the area of Idlewild Street, Hollywood Street and 17th Street.
Police said the suspect en- tered unlocked vehicles and removed items such as an iPhone 6, pedometers and a wallet containing identifica- tion and credit cards. The stolen credit cards were later used at a Walmart and two Winn Dixie stores. The store surveillance shows a Black male and his vehicle, believed to be a light colored Nissan or Toyota.
This is a surveillance photo of a man suspected of burglariz- ing several vehicles and using stolen credit cards.

Tampa Police report that at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, a man who confronted a pair of car- jackers was hit by his own car and held onto the hood for a block before he was able to get
off.The victim was getting as at a Sunoco Station 1403 West Waters. He let his keys in the ignition when he went inside to pay and one of the suspects entered his car from the dri- ver’s side door.
As the second suspect tired to get in the passenger side, the victim ran back to the car, picked up a trash can and threw it at the windshield.
While the victim was still in front of the car, the suspect
hit the gas, throwing the vic- tim onto the hood. The sus- pect then drove about a block and stopped. The victim got off the car and the suspect turned around and picked up his partner before driving off. The victim was not injured.
The stolen vehicle is de- scribed as a 2008 dark gray Chevrolet Malibu, Florida Tag temporary number BJQ8040.

Police Search For Suspect Who Shot 3 People
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is currently in- vestigating a shooting that took place Tuesday morning. Three people were injured during the incident.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting that took place at 11766 North 15th Street as an attempted robbery. According to police, four Hispanic men were outside of the En Alquiler Apartment Complex, shortly before 6 a.m. The men were reportedly waiting for the day labor vehicle when they were approached by a Black man.
The man pointed a hand- gun at the victims and de- manded money. At some point during the attempted robbery, the armed suspect fired several rounds from the handgun.
Three of the four individu- als were hit by gunfire.
Renan Diaz, 52, suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm. Genri Gonzalez-Car- dona, 35, was struck in the left thigh and left foot. Leonardo Garcia- Nandho, 28, suffered a gun- shot wound to his upper hip.
All three men were trans- ported to a local hospital for their injuries. None of the in- juries were life-threatening, police said.
The fourth man, who is not being identified because he is a witness, was not in- jured.
The suspect is described as being about 5’5” with a thin build and was dressed in all black.

JABARIOUS HILL
St. Petersburg Police re- port that just before 10 a. m. Tuesday, officers in an un- marked car tried to stop a sus- pected stolen vehicle. When the plain-clothes officers got out of their unmarked car, the driver reportedly rammed the car, trapping the officer’s foot.
A pursuit was authorized and the car crashed into a home at 1147 1⁄2 James Av- enue, South. All three occu- pants of the vehicle were taken into custody.

Police said an elderly woman sleeping in the house was also hospitalized for pre- cautionary measures. She was not injured in the crash.
Jabarious Hill, 26, and Laura Molina, 33, were ar- rested. The third passenger was not charged. Hill was charged with three counts of aggravated battery, auto theft, fleeing and eluding, hit and run, and on a federal warrant.
Molina was charged with felony drug possession.
