  More Than 131,600 Ballots Cast During Early Voting

The 14-day Early Voting period ended on Sunday in Hillsborough County. A total of 6,976 residents cast ballots on that day.
During the Early Voting period, 43,567 people visited the 19 designated Early Vot- ing locations. An additional
88,115 registered voters used the Vote-By-Mail option to cast their ballots, bringing the number of people who have voted during the two- week period to 131,682.
On Tuesday, August 28th, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Individuals who will vote on Election Day will
be required to vote at his or her assigned precinct.
What To Bring
Individuals voting at their assigned precincts must pro- vide one or two forms of identification. Acceptable identification includes: Florida Driver License; Florida ID Card issued by the Department of Highway
Safety and Motor Vehicles; U. S. Passport; Debit or Credit Card; Military ID; Stu- dent ID; Retirement Center ID; Neighborhood Associa- tion ID; Public Assistance ID; or Veteran Health ID (is- sued by VA).
You may also use your Concealed Weapon License (issued pursuant to s. 790.06); or Government Em-
ployee ID.
If your photo ID does not include your signa- ture, you will be asked to provide another ID that has your signature.
Individuals without proper identification may still vote a provisional ballot, which will later be evaluated by a canvassing board for el- igibility.

 Judge Disqualifies Democratic Attorney General Candidate
 Last Wednesday, days before the Primary Election, a state judge disqualified a democratic candidate. He was accused of violating an election law.

Judge Karen Gievers ruled Ryan Torrens, “has proven himself not to be properly qualified” as she criticized him for a “selec-

who is a Democratic candi- date for the Attorney Gen- eral’s Office filed a lawsuit earlier this month in Leon County. The lawsuit stated that Torrens, a Tampa lawyer, accepted a $4,000 campaign donation, exceed- ing the $3,000 limit.
Without the donation, Torrens would not have been able to pay the $7,738.32 qualifying fee to get on the ballot, the suit says.
The ruling means Attor- ney Shaw will not face a Democratic challenger in the Primary Election. He will face in November.
Republican contenders for the seat are former Hillsborough County judge Ashley Moody and Frank White.

Attorney Torrens had taken the stand in his own defense.
Attorney Torrens said he got permission from his wife to write the check as the qualifying week began in June. He also said he signed her name. However, he denied the check was written to provide the
