RAY WILLIAMS
MR. GLENNOY MAURICE POWELL, SR.
Mr. Glennoy Maurice Pow- ell, Sr., of Tampa passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020. Fu- neral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 27th at 11 a. m. at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL. Interment will fol- low at 1 p. m. in the Florida Na- tional Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida. Please follow the CDC guide- lines.
Mr. Glennoy Maurice Powell was a native of Tampa, Florida born to Mose and Rebecca Pow- ell. He was a graduate of Tampa Catholic High School and en- listed into the United States Air Force, where he served until Honorably discharged.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Mose and Re- becca Powell; wife, Janet Pow- ell; and sisters, Rhonda Canady, Cynthia Agee and Jamahi Wil- son.
He leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Michelle White, Adria Powell, and Janet Powell; sons, Glennoy Powell, Jr., Flennoy Powell, Elijah Pow- ell, Joseph Blakely and Adrian Powell; 30 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; sisters, Phillipa Robertson, Amahl Pow- ell (Donna) and Beverly Powell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.
The visitation was held Tuesday, May 26, from 3-6 p. m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue. We are asking family and friends to fol- low the CDC guidelines.

Mt. Tabor, where she became one of their pianist for many years and later left Mt. Tabor to assist other churches that needed her assis- tance.
Her career with the Hillsbor- ough County Public Schools spans many years and began as Secretary at Blake High School. She was also school secretary at Lomax Elemen- tary, began substitute teaching and went on to teach at Dunbar Ele- mentary for 38 years. Although Kathryn’s major was in Business, music, teaching children and serv- ing the Lord, and remained her passion throughout her life.
She leaves to cherish her mem- ory: her daughter, Esther Annette Cooley and husband, Clifton; her son, William L. Quarles, Jr. and wife, Gwendolyn; grandchildren, Ericka Walker and husband, Ben, Quentin Quarles and wife, Kyoko, and William Quarles, III; great- grandchildren, Davale Royal, Ko- ryana Swann, Benjamin Walker, III, and Brycen Walker; nieces and nephews, Mary Elizabeth James, and her daughters, Sheree Finley and her children, Ashley Wright and Ashden Finley; Natalie James, and her child, Andreas Ashwood; Michael J. Kennedy and wife, Jean and their children, Mikeshia, Mikea, Mikal and Michael; Erica Stewart and husband, Morris and their children, Morgan, Leah, Kiah and Brenden, Eric Albury and his wife, Survet and their children, Nicholas and Kaela; James Quarles and his wife, Patricia and their children, Derrick and Mark; and Brenda Wright; cousin, Harold Wilson and wife, Sara and their children and grandchildren; her niece and special caregiver, Pamela Byrd and her son, Shelton Quarles and wife, Damaris and their chil- dren, Gabriela, Shelton, Jr. and Carlos; special caregiver, Marion Arnett; members of New Bethel AME Church and a host of loving and devoted friends. “Rest In Peace,” Mom.

MR. DANIEL EUGENE COLEMAN
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held for Mr. Daniel Eugene Coleman, who passed on Saturday May 16, 2020.
Daniel Eugene Coleman, aka, “Danny,” “Dan” and “Dan The Man,” was born on February 23, 1950, in Tampa, Florida, to the late James Earnest and Eddie B. Cole- man. He was baptized at the Holsey Temple CME Church, Tampa, Florida, and later joined the Unitar- ian Universalist Church in Boston, MA.
Dan attended elementary and junior high school in Tampa and then attended Middleton Senior High School from 1965 through 1967. There, the late Helen Wilson recognized Dan’s academic excel- lence and encouraged him to apply to the University of South Florida’s Upward Bound Program. While at Upward Bound, Dan met and was later mentored by the late Phyllis Busansky. In 1967, he matriculated to the Philips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, for his senior year of high school. After graduating from Philips Academy, Dan was ac- cepted at Tufts University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History. He later earned a certifi- cate from the MIT Sloan School of Management Advanced Manage- ment Program. After Dan’s retire- ment, he returned to Tampa where he joined the Saturday Morning Breakfast Group. He also served as a Board member of the Allen Tem-
ple Neighborhood Corporation and many other grassroots organiza- tions. Dan was a devoted fan of the New England Patroits football team.
Dan is survived by: his loving and faithful sister, Betty Sue Cole- man; brother, Anthony Stanley Coleman; two aunts, Doris Coleman Williams and Mary Alice Coleman Lundy; cousins, Alalia Mack and family, Mikail Najiaalim, a.k.a., Kenny Anderson and family, Michelle Welch and family, Evelyn Coleman and family, Elsie Hicks and family, Angus Anderson, Dr. William Mitchell and family, Pat Mitchell and family, Ron Mitchell and family, Joseph Correa and fam- ily, Debra Everett and family, Pam Powell and family, Diana Singleton and family, Alalia Lundy and fam- ily, Laphan Williams and family, Al Williams, Reggie Williams, Darryl Williams and families; grandchil- dren, Shannon, Dylan, Scotty and Rachel; godchildren, Sarah and Clare Busansky; his extended fam- ily members, Sheldon, Alexander, Edward and Rebecca Busansky, Dr. Daniel and Joan Rutenburg, Regina and Andy Rockefeller, Dr. Huey Mays, Rena Wright, Tom McNa- mara and Herb Tyson; his devoted friends and colleagues, Maurice Coleman, Francisco DeJesus, Grady Hedgepeth, Tod Hibbard, Jerry Johnson, Jennifer Schmelter, LeJuano Varnell, Carlotta Holder, Julia Gast, Liz Case, Noel Hill, Stephanie Lemons, Wayne Threatt, Holly Koda, George Louis and the Moragne and Keeton families; and a host of other sorrowing cousins, relatives and friends.
There will be a viewing on Fri- day,May29,2020from3–8p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, Dan’s sister has asked that donations should be sent to the scholarship fund in his honor at Tufts, his beloved alma mater: The Daniel E. Coleman, A’73 Scholar- ship Fund.

MS. KATHERYN DREXEL PAYNE QUARLES
Ms. Katheryn Drexel Payne Quarles of Tampa, passed away Friday, May 15, 2020. Due to the CDC guidelines the funeral serv- ices will be closed to the public.
Ms. Katheryn Drexel Payne Quarles was the daughter of Thomas and Ada Payne.
She is predeceased by her three sisters, Elizabeth Morris, Martha Kenney and Theresa Hunt- ley.
Katheryn grew up in and at- tended St. Paul A. M. E. Church and was pianist and organist at St. Paul for many years. She began working when she was 12 years old at Central Life Insurance Company until she graduated from high school. Katheryn graduated at the age of 16 from George H. Middle- ton High School and attended Bethune- Cookman College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Minor in Music. She was the recipient of the Bethune-Cookman Silver Cup Award two years in a row. She was one of many of the students at Bethune-Cookman who had the honor of personally knowing Mary McLeod Bethune.
In 1949 Katheryn met her hus- band, William Quarles, at MacDill Air Force Base. They were married on December 16, 1950, and that marriage resulted in two children, William and Annette. William passed away on January 3, 1993. William found the Lord at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. Katheryn, praising the Lord for William’s salvation, left St. Paul A. M. E. and followed her husband to
