January Babies Annual Gathering

  During the last week of January, a few of the “January Babies” met for lunch at a Harbor Island restaurant. This annual event has been ongoing for more than 20 years. They look for- ward to this event and enjoy chatting, catching up and reminiscing over prior events and gatherings.
Those who were able to attend the luncheon were: sitting, Lavern Ash and Irene Bedford. Standing, Gloria W. Davis, Augustine Nobles, Gladys Permuy and Sharon Robinson, all of whom were born during the month of January.
Friends and family gath- ered in Progress Village last Saturday to celebrate the 100th birthday for Ms. Marion Washington. Ms. Washing- ton was born February 18, 1919 in Coleman, FL., a town of just over 800 people in Sumter County. She’s lived in Tampa for most of her adult life.
Ms. Washington lives at home and still enjoys cooking, gardening, and blessing all who visit with her stories.
