Vandals Destroy Graves In East Tampa Cemetery
Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are seeking help from the community to solve a vandalism case. It in- volves the destruction at an East Tampa cemetery.
According to unidentified suspects entered the Centro Espanol de Tampa Cemetery, 2502 E. 21st Avenue earlier in the week. Once in- side, the suspects used a heavy object, possibly a sledgeham- mer, to damage 18 tombs and statues in the cemetery.
Located at the intersection of E. 21st Avenue and North 26th Street, Centro Espanol de Tampa Cemetery was estab- lished in 1904, and has ap- proximately 1,600 graves.

Police Search For Man Who Set Home Afire
ARSON SUSPECT
Detectives with the Tampa Police Department are seeking help to identify a man who set a home on fire. The fire took place on Mon- day, July 2nd, around 10:30 p.m.
According to police, Tampa Fire Rescue re-
sponded to 2507 N. 27th Street, in reference to the fire. The home is being remodeled and was empty at the time of the fire.
After the fire was extin- guished, detectives retrieved surveillance video from the area. They observed an unidentified suspect ap- proaching the home on foot. He reportedly knocked down a security camera with a piece of wood and walked around to the other side of the, where he started the fire.
The cause of the fire has been determined as arson, however, police have released no additional information. The investigation is continu- ing.
