On Tuesday, detectives acted quickly and arrested a 23-year-old man, charging him with first-degree mur- der.
The charge is linked to a fatal shooting that took place Monday afternoon.
The Tampa Police De- partment responded to 9-1-1 calls about shots being fired in the 3400 block of N. 53rd Street shortly before 1 p.m.
The body of the unidentified man was found in the front yard of a home in the 3400 block of N. 53rd Street.
Detectives are currently investigating a domestic dis- pute that ended in a fatal shooting. The incident took place Monday afternoon in the 9300 block of Eden Drive.
According to the Hillsbor- ough County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses called 9-1-1 after hearing gunshots. When deputies arrived at the trailer park, they discovered a man lying in the front yard. He was declared deceased at the scene.
Detectives believe the
shooting was the result of a domestic dispute. Prelimi- nary evidence suggests that the confrontation took place outside the home. One per- son then produced a hand- gun and shot the victim.
There have been no ar- rests in the case. Everyone involved in the incident is co- operating. The investigation is continuing, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 28- year-old had been shot. The unidentified man was lo- cated in the front yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Detectives launched their investigation into the shoot- ing and developed leads that led them to Malik May- nard, of Tampa. Informa- tion received led police to the
14400 block of Hellenic Drive, where they located Maynard’s vehicle.
Officers maintained sur- veillance on the vehicle. Once it was confirmed that Maynard was inside the ve- hicle, the officers took him into custody without inci- dent.
Police did not release any information about what led up to the fatal confrontation.

Deputy Matthew Ar- chambeau reportedly made the comments last month. One of the com- ments attributed to him was, “It’s sad the officers are deal- ing with this mess. But him dead is the best outcome.” He also added a smiling emoji to the comment.
Archambeau also stated that no one killed Floyd, “he killed himself” and “at least we can agree that he should have been killed the day he had a gun to a pregnant females stom- ach.”

The Sheriff’s Office has launched an internal investigation into one of its deputies.
New Port Richey Police said while the threats have been placed on social media, no property has been dam- aged. Hate groups have threatened to burn their houses down in recent days.
Deputy Chief Lauren Letona said, “We cannot pre- dict who is going to show up at these events. We are there to provide safety and enforce the law regardless of what groups are involved.”
One person wrote, “When they get in their vehicles write
the license plates down you will be able to track them down to that! Burn their house, burn their cars f*** their s*** up taste of their own medicine.”
Another woman wrote, “Don’t worry. We are coming to your event legally armed. Leave the New Port Richey Police alone. Leave Chief Bogart alone. We will pr0tect the city from scum Antifa like you. More Bikers are coming. We are watching you! Get Ready.”
