FAMILY NOTICE
    MRS. BEATRICE MIMS MOBLEY
Mrs. Beatrice Mims Mob- ley of Tampa passed away Friday, October 11, 2019. Funeral services will be con- ducted Thursday, October 24th 1 p. m. at Thonotosassa Seventh Day Adventist Church, 9525 Joe Ebert Road, Seffner, FL, with Pas- tor Yvens Melidor, officiat- ing. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, FL.
Mrs. Beatrice Mims Mob- ley was a native of Plant City, Florida, and a resident of the Tampa Bay Area for all of her life. She was edu- cated in the local schools of Hillsborough County, grad- uating from Midway Acad- emy, Class of 1948. She furthered her education with Webster College, where she earned many academic awards and her Associate degree in Medical Assist- ing/Office Management.

 MS. BETTY JACKSON DENDY
 A Celebration of Life for Ms. Betty Joyce Jackson Dendy of St. Petersburg, FL, retired educator, who passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, will be held on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Noon, at Friendship Missionary Church, 3300 31st St. S, St. Petersburg, FL., Dr. John A. Evans, Sr., Pastor. Inter- ment will follow the service in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Betty was an identical twin and the youngest child of Dallie Elijah and Beatrice Spann Jackson born on March 27, 1937. Betty and her twin sister, Barbara, were very popular and were known throughout Tampa as the “Jackson Twins.”
Betty was preceded in death by four of her five sib- lings: Dallas, Francys (Lester), Harold and James.
The Jackson Family is originally from South Car- olina. Betty’s father, Dallie, was a businessman and en- trepreneur and her mother, Beatrice, was a seamstress and homemaker. The family moved south in the early 1920s in pursuit of expand- ing economic opportunities in Tampa.
 Betty’s early education was received at Harlem Ele- mentary School and St. Peter Claver Catholic School. Her Christian upbringing led her
 rice met and married Mr. Fred Mobley of Tampa, FL. To this union nine children were born: Cheryl, Yvonne, Fred, Jr., Alayne, Elvet, Bev- erly, Felton, Tony, and Yvette.
Mrs. Mobley accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a devoted mem- ber of the Thonotosassa SDA Church in Seffner, FL. She served faithfully in the Cra- dle Role Division of The Sab- bath School Department. She also served in the Com- munity Service Department feeding the homeless and giving out clothes to those in need. She touched the lives of her family, church family, community and the many people she came in contact with.
Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Yvonne Broadnax, Alayne Mobley, and Felton Mobley, all of Tampa, FL; brother, Jimmy Porter and wife, Elizebeth of Plant City, FL; sisters, Dorothy Oliver and husband, Lee of Kissimmee, FL, Shirley Porter of Plant City, FL, Manda Perry of Plant City, Antonia and Bobby Esaw of Lakeland, FL; 31 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church fam- ily, associates and friends.
The remains will repose from 4 - 7 p. m., Wednesday, October 23rd, at Ray Williams
to receive Christ at an early age and her Christian walk was reinforced by her formal Christian education. She then advanced on to Middle- ton Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1955. Betty was a stellar stu- dent and distinguished her- self in academic studies and music. Betty followed in the footsteps of her older sib- lings by attending South Car- olina State College, graduating with a degree in Elementary Education.
During her undergradu- ate career, her popularity, sophistication and charisma led to her becoming a mem- ber of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and her selection to a number of campus queen rolls. Shortly after gradua- tion from SC State, she com- pleted post-graduate work in Education at Indiana Univer- sity and the University of South Florida. Betty had be- come a highly accomplished master teacher and grade group leader at the time of her retirement from Ander- son Elementary School in Tampa in 1998, after having faithfully served 37 years in the Hillsborough County Public School System.
Oaks Neighborhood Associa- tion for several years, and secondly, she served as a Boy Scout Troop Leader with Troop 226 at St. Joseph Catholic Church during her grandson Marquis’ journey from Tenderfoot Scout to Eagle Scout.
Betty was active with the Tampa graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority for many years, occasionally attending Boules and partic- ipating in sorority commu- nity service projects.
Other grieving family members include: her grand- children: Marquis (Farina) Dendy, Ryan Callihan, Alexandrea Dendy, Tyrell Dendy, Rylan Callihan, Riana Callihan; and great grands Atticus and Aeriani Dendy; her nieces and nephews: Wil- son A. Lester, Jr., Harold (Mary) and Myron (Natalie) Jackson, Debra and Janese Jackson, Kimberly (Alex) Lester, Beatrice Jackson, Edwin Chavous, James, Jr. and Dallas (Kaydianne) Jack- son, and Brent (Tracey) Chavous; and a host of other grieving relatives, friends and neighbors.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 4p.m.to6p.m.,followedby a Wake Service from 6 p. m. to 7 p. m. at Lawson Funeral Home, 4535 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL 33713.
After retirement, she served the St. Petersburg community in two key en- deavors. First, she served as President of the Highland

Betty’s son, Robert Dendy; granddaughter, Ravyn Dendy; and niece, Robin Chavous Bodrick pre- ceded her in death.
