Live Abundantly
mpowered Greet-
ings. You were created to live abundantly. Don’t allow the circumstances of life to cause you to settle for less. When Jesus came on the scene He repositioned you to be able to live life abundantly, accord- ing to the Bible verse John 10:10b.
Therefore, you don’t have to settle for living in lack. You don’t have to settle for living in poverty. You don’t have to set- tle for being depleted, defeated or cast down by the haves that see you as the have not. You have it even though you don’t see it yet. It was already pro- vided for you in the spiritual realm. Now it’s time for you to manifest it in the natural realm.
If you really want to live abundantly, you must first be- lieve it is possible for you. Abundance is not just for the other person born into the right family, that lives in the right neighborhood and at- tended the right schools. NO!
NO! NO! Abundance is for you! It doesn’t matter who your parents are. It doesn’t matter where you live. It does- n’t even matter if you finished school or not. What matters is that you have a mind set for abundance. You must believe that you can succeed abun- dantly than you can achieve abundantly.
There is no lack of abun- dance. There is an abundance of abundance for everyone to live an abundant life if they choose to. Just because some- one else is experiencing abun- dance in the same business, ministerial area or educational endeavor doesn’t mean that you can’t have abundance in that area too.
In fact, it’s an indication that if they can do it, you can do it, even if their business or ministry is right next door. Why, because everyone will do things with their own special spice of life to it. You may do the same thing but it will never be delivered in the same way
because you are different. You are different enough to have abundant success.
Here are 3 quick things that need to happen to get you started on the path to live abundantly.
Decide that the abundant life is for you. Remember you were created to live abun- dantly.
Describe in visual detail what the abundant life looks and feels like to you. Write it down so you can look at it often and stay on track with your dream of living the abun- dant life.
Be Determined to go after your desire to live abun- dantly. Be determined to move toward your desire despite any situation that may come to stop your progress. Keep mov- ing forward!

Community Conversations And Police-Race Relations
n future weeks, TPD Chief Eric Ward and officers will
host a series of neighborhood-police meetings created to “build on the need for productive ongoing dialogue be- tween law enforcement and community members.” Called “Community Conversations,” these conferences will, in Chief Ward’s words, “challenge pastors, parents, community advocates or anyone who has concerns and solutions related to public safety to come out and bring some people with them.” But guess what?
Spearheaded by Hillsborough County Commission Chairman Les Miller, Jr., given a unanimous vote of sup- port by fellow Commissioners, and mentored by leg- endary community leader Fred Hearns, the Board of County Commissioners has put together a similar series of workshops that in the near future will “bring together minority communities and law enforcement” . . . next year, to be exact, with four two-day workshops for adults, two two-day workshops for teenagers and a wrap-up forum for community leaders.
We are thrilled and grateful to both the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County Government for their proactive concern regarding the future well-being of our widely di- verse communities. To Commissioner Miller, Chief Ward, and Brother Hearns, we commend the fact you have not forgotten the wonder of former Police-Community work- shops.
‘Talk What You Know...’
he murders by police of
Alton Sterling in Baton, Rogue on July 5, 2016; Philando Castile in Min- nesota on July 6, 2016; the cops killed by Micah Xavier Johnson and Gavin Long in Dallas and Baton Rouge on July 7 and July 17, 2016, re- spectively, and the murder of Sylville Smith, by a cop in Milwaukee on August 13, 2016 have sparked numerous dis- cussions in mainstream media and in online forums.
Two storylines are preva- lent in discussions regarding these events. One is that Africans kill more Africans than police do. The other is that Africans, though only 13 percent of the U. S. population commit 51 percent of the mur- ders that occur in the U. S.
There is no evidence that either of these things are fact.
The much parroted narra- tive that 51 percent of the mur- ders in the U. S. are committed by Africans who are 13 percent of the population is a meritless stat for several reasons.
One. The FBI acknowl- edges that the Uniform Crime Reporting Program (UCR), which compiles the data for
the stat, does not receive re- ports of kills by cops from all of the 18,000 or so law en- forcement agencies, in the U. S. The FBI also admits law en- forcement agencies that do re- port kills by cops do not disclose all of their kills. The 51 percent stat, therefore, cannot represent an accurate number of murders in the U. S.
Two. The police define what murder is and conse- quently determine who is deemed a murderer. The po- lice abscond themselves from that classification, in a number of instances. There is a long history of police, choking peo- ple to death, shooting people to death, chasing people to death, Tasering people to death, etc. and being judged "justified" in so doing. The po- lice are responsible for killing hundreds of people every year, but because of the reasons stated in the opening sentence, those kills are not called mur- der and are not counted in the UCR’s 51 percent tale.
Three. The felony murder rule, extant in 46 of 50 of the U. S. states since 2008, assigns murder charges to people who kill no one and vindicates the
person who did kill. The peo- ple represented as murderers in the 51 percent stat, in many instances have not killed any- one. This fact also infects the integrity of the story that 51 percent of the people mur- dered in the U. S. are mur- dered by African people.
It is one thing to regurgi- tate info rendered online, on television and radio, in print, etc. It's another to contribute intelligently to a conversation based on critical assessment of facts.
Some individuals restate stuff like "over 50 percent of all murders are committed by Blacks," perhaps in an attempt to sound smart, without inves- tigating the source of the infor- mation on which they base their conclusions and evaluat- ing that information thor- oughly.
Such practice is intellectual laziness, a characteristic that is unfortunately quite typical of people in running their mouths these days.
Read, search and question everything before you repeat anything.
Like Mao Tse-tung, Chairman of the Communist Party of China, once said . . . “No investigation, no right to speak.”

Will The Real Donald Trump Please Stand Up?
any Black Americans couldn’t believe their ears
when Donald Trump stated not once, but twice that Democrats and President Obama have not done any- thing for Blacks – the reason why Blacks are not doing well economically and socially. Indeed, Trump couldn’t itemize what Republicans had done for Blacks, because yes, the Party of Lincoln became the Party of Barry Gold- water in 1964 – that hasn’t done anything for Blacks since the Emancipation Proclamation and Reconstruction.
In fact, Republican President Rutherford Hayes signed off on the Compromise of 1877, which was a “purported informal, unwritten deal that settled the intensely dis- puted 1876 U. S. Presidential election” between Hayes and Democrat Samuel J. Tilden.
Hayes was awarded the White House over Tilden “on the understanding that “Hayes would remove the federal troops whose support was essential for the survival of Re- publican state governments in South Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana.” Black Republicans felt betrayed as they lost government seats to which they had been elected, were subjected to Jim Crow laws, lynching and loss of the right to vote by Democrats. Thus, both parties set up Black Americans for nearly a century of disenfranchise- ment.
Obviously, Trump’s new campaign manager has told him he needs to apologize for the things he has said (even though he never used the words “I’m sorry” or “I apolo- gize”). He stated that “I regret it,” which is not an apology.
Indeed, the adage “As a man thinketh, so is he” would fit amply with the Republican presidential candidate. Therefore, we are convinced Trump meant everything mean, nasty, and ugly word that he has ever said and that is the REAL Trump. Regretting some- thing is not the same as being remorseful or sorry for having said it.
