Russell Westbrook Agrees To $20M Contract Extension
Chris Paul On LeBron James-Dwyane Wade Cavs: ‘I Want To Beat Them Bad’
CHRIS PAUL
They may be his Banana Boat brothers in the offseason, but come the actual NBA season, it’s a very different story for Chris Paul.
The Houston Rockets All-Star guard took some time this week to comment on close friends Le- Bron James and Dwyane Wade teaming up in Cleveland.
“I told them guys congrats,” said Paul “They’re back to- gether there. But at the end of the day, I know Melo wants to beat them bad, I want to beat them bad, they want to beat us bad. It is what it is.”
Paul will be forming his own dynamic duo in Houston this season, but his competitive drive is part of what sets him apart as a player. That won’t change this coming year despite CP3’s close relationship with both James and Wade.
JR Smith Throws Shade At Donald Trump For Being At Golf Event
JR SMITH
JR Smith had some criti- cism of President Donald Trump for being at the Presi- dents Cup golf event on Sunday.
The Americans won the event in New Jersey for the sev- enth straight time. The Ameri- cans winning the event wasn’t a surprise. What was a surprise was seeing the sitting president attend the event on the final day and present the trophy — be- coming the first sitting presi- dent to do both.
Trump frequently criticized President Obama for golfing while on the job, which makes his actions even more hypocrit- ical. He was golfing on Saturday at a time when American citi- zens in Puerto Rico are strug- gling to recover from the destruction caused by Hurri- cane Maria.

Down On McDonald's For
First Meal As Free Man
OJ SIMPSON
The Juice pounded two No. 4 combos from a Nevada McDonald’s as his first post- prison meal during the long road to Sin City.
Released prisoner O.J. Simpson gobbled down the fast-food feast after slipping out of Lovelock Correctional Center under the cover of night Sunday.
“He said, ‘It’s better than prison food, but it’s what it’s all cracked out to be,’” said Simpson’s attorney, Mal- colm LaVergne.
“He was happy to be eat- ing something on the out- side,” he told the Daily News.
The Las Vegas attorney declined to identify which franchise the convicted rob- ber picked for his first official mealasafreeman—or where he was headed during what appeared to be a te- dious road trip.
A Splash News paparazzo found former prisoner No. 1027820 fueling up with a mystery driver at an Amar- gosa Valley gas station, about an hour out of Las Vegas.
"I'm in a car for the last five hours, so how do I know how it feels to be out,” Simp- son retorted, when asked about his release.
Simpson’s lawyer took credit for helping his 70- year-old football legend leave the Nevada prison “in a safe and secluded manner” — minus the media spotlight — just eight minutes after mid- night, when he was eligible for release on parole.
Simpson packed four boxes stuffed with legal pa- pers, clothes and a prison hot plate into the white SUV waiting for him in the prison’s dark and lonely parking lot.
The lawyer says Simp- son will remain in Nevada for an unspecified amount of time, while state parole offi- cials say the parolee will be living in the Las Vegas area for now.
State Parole and Proba- tion Capt. Shawn Arruti said Simpson has only one approved residential plan —
and it Florida.

Russell Westbrook ap- pears to be committing him- self to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the foreseeable future.
Westbrook has agreed to a five-year, $205 million contract extension with the Thunder on Friday.
Westbrook is under con- tract for $28.5 million this season and then had a player option for next season, which he could have declined in order to become a free agent. The five-year extension will be tacked onto his current deal, ensuring he makes $233 million over the next six sea- sons, including the upcoming season.
There were lingering questions about whether Westbrook would commit

to the Thunder long term after Kevin Durant left for the Golden State Warriors. Westbrook stepped up without Durant last season, becoming the league MVP while helping the Thunder to a 47-35 record, giving them the sixth spot in the Western Conference.
