SPOTLIGHT ON ME
BRITTANY JANAY WILLIAMS
Congratulations are going out to Ms. Brittany Janay Williams, a recent graduate of Brewster Technical College. She earned her degree in Home Health Aide.
We are proud of you, love, your entire family.
The City of Tampa is host- ing a series of “teen-friendly” COVID-19 vaccination events to help get more teenagers vac- cinated before summer begins. On Saturday, May 29, the City is offering free Pfizer vaccines at the Jackson Heights NFL Yet Center.
The vaccines will be admin- istered from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. thanks to a partnership with Health Matters Pharmacy and Advanced Mobile Medical. The pop-up event will include music and giveaways for those who take advantage of receiv- ing a free vaccine.
The vaccine is available for individuals 12 years and older. Teens between the ages 12-17 must have proof of age and be accompanied by a parent or guardian in order to get vacci- nated. Acceptable proof of age includes a copy of a birth cer- tificate, passport, or driver’s li- cense.
Mayor Jane Castor said, “We are excited to work along- side local business owners right here in East Tampa who are also heavily invested in keeping residents safe and pre- venting any further spread of COVID-19 in our community.”
Dr. Vondalyn Wright, owner of Health Matters Phar- macy, and her team will be on- site to administer the vaccines. "It is important for my team to be a part of the solution. Our neighborhoods are dispropor- tionately affected by COVID- 19 and as a lifelong resident of Tampa and a healthcare pro- fessional this opportunity means a lot for our East Tampa Community Pharmacy. My Team and I have been vac- cinated and I recommend that everyone does their research to see which of the three vaccina- tions is best for them. We offer all three of the COVID-19 vac- cinations and we are happy to inform the community about

what the differences are,” Dr. Wright said.
The team will be adminis- tering the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the Jackson Heights NFL Yet Center event. Advanced Medical Mobile, owned by Tampa native Erika Hall, is also partnering to help get community members vac- cinated.
“As a Tampa native and healthcare provider, it is my honor to help assist the Tampa community in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Alongside Health Matters Pharmacy, we have been reaching many indi- viduals who otherwise would have been left out. I am grate- ful to my city, Tampa, for the opportunity to continue being essential in such a time as the pandemic.”
The City of Tampa is also hosting a vaccination event at the Barksdale Center at Mac- Farlane Park at the same time. Community members are en- couraged to attend either event.
