Tampa Bay Gospel Legends Celebrate 5th Anniversary
The Tampa Bay Gospel Legends held their 5th Annual Reunion Celebration on Saturday, August 5, 2017. The celebration was held at St. John Cathedral, Elder Dwight Newkirk, Pastor. The special guest was gospel artist, Paul Porter, who was joined by several groups from around the area. (Photos by Julia Jackson)
The Master of Ceremony for the program was Elder Wilford Jones.
Gospel musician Paul Porter was the special guest for the anniversary celebration. A former member of the Christianaires (founded in 1980 by him, his brother and cousins), he started his solo career in 2008 with the release of “A New Day.”
Noretta and George Shivers and Marie Miller, President of the Legends, presented the Gospel Family of the Year award to the Har- mony Winds. Ethel and T. C. Pittman, right, accepted the award.
The Exciting Gospel Warriors appeared on the Gwen Bridgett was also honored
