Mayor Buckhorn Appoints Salvatore Territo As Next City Attorney
Institutions of Higher Education are the great pathways, preparing stu- dents for success in the workforce which transi- tions to enhancing the economy. More impor- tantly, faculty recruitment is imperative for the suc- cess of the internal, exter- nal function of colleges and universities in the State of Florida and the United States of America.
In addition to providing an educational curriculum which is a vital compo- nent, higher education faculty also provides a means of accountability for students’ growth and proficiency, while also having a direct impact on graduation rates.

City of Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn promoted Sal Territo to City Attorney after Julia Mandell announced her resignation and next op- portunity as an attorney at Carlton Fields.
Sal Territo has had a long career working for and with local governments in Florida. He started his legal career with the City of Tampa in 1980 after graduating from the Stetson University College of Law. He’s served in vari- ous roles in the private sector, as well as Planning Commis- sioner and Chairman as well as Hearing Examiner in Lee County.
For nearly ten years he was an adjunct professor at the University of South Florida. In 2005, Sal returned to the City of Tampa where he’s served as Chief Assistant City Attorney as the head of the transactional and administra- tive section of the Legal De- partment.
Julia Mandell joins Carl- ton Fields after twelve and a half years of service to the City of Tampa, three of which were as City Attorney.
