Will ‘A Madea Family Funeral’
Bury Tyler Perry’s Franchise? Opens (Today) Friday At Theaters
Is this Tyler Perry's final Madea film? The one studio that is hoping not and putting out the film this weekend is Lionsgate with “A Madea Family Funeral,” the tenth and potentially final film in Tyler Perry’s long- running “Madea” series. The film opens (today) at box
office (today) Friday at the- aters. “A Madea Family Fu- neral ” is expected to be the No.1 movie this weekend.
Madea has been a de- pendable, low-budget mon- eymaker for Lionsgate, as the character has grossed a com- bined $547 million at the do- mestic box office.
“A Madea Family Fu- neral” sees Madea return to Georgia for yet another fam- ily reunion, which ends up going so bad that she ends up having to plan an unexpected funeral. Along the way, unsa- vory secrets arise that threaten to split up the family for good.
