BY IRIS B. HOLTON Sentinel City Editor
A 31-year-old father and his two children died in a traf- fic accident early Sunday. The children’s mother was trans- ported to a local hospital.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place at 2:26 a.m. in the northbound lane of I-75 north of State Road 60.
Officials said Ronald L. Green, II, was driving a 2005 Maserati northbound on I-75 north of State Road 60. Ms. Tiffany Lasha Young, 26, of Bartow, Sariyah Green, 9, and five-year-old Ronald Green, III, were passengers in the vehicle. The family lived in Bartow.
Green reportedly lost control of the vehicle and en- tered the center median. The vehicle then collided with a guardrail and a concrete bar- rier wall. It then flipped over the barrier wall and fell be- tween the I-75 overpass and onto Woodberry Road, where
it burst into flame. Investigators said that
after the car flipped over the barrier wall, both Green and Ms. Young were ejected from the vehicle. Green and both children died at the scene.
Ms. Young was trans-
ported to Tampa General Hos- pital with serious injuries. She was treated and has since been released, her father, Reggie Smith said.
No funeral home had been chosen at press time and arrangements were incom- plete.
Ronald Green, II, along with daughter, Sariyah, and son, Ronald Green, III, died in a traffic accident early Sunday. The children’s mother, Ms. Tiffany Young, survived the accident.
