FF WITH HIS HEAD!” It worked quite well for the
Queen of Hearts who chased poor Alice-in-Won- derland to a fare-thee-well. But how is it going to fare for President Donald Trump?
Yes, of course, he has the means to have fired Jim Comey, his Director of the Federal Bureau of Investiga- tion, who time and again say many, gave President Trump the silver spoon that helped feed him the presidency.
But just because you have the power and the means to have dinner with a king cobra, that certainly doesn’t mean you should break bread with him.
So, America’s 45th President makes history once more by firing his FBI Director . . . the first time in history it has ever been done.
Meanwhile, the so-called Free World is reeling over the implications of what a former reality-talk show host who hired and fired people regularly on camera just did to the second most powerful man on the planet.
But not everybody is weeping, wailing, and gnashing of his teeth. President Trump’s tax lawyers’ aren’t crying. Steve Bannon’s Neo-Nazi “Alt-Right” is splitting his side over President Trump’s cagey coup. Neither are hardcore segments of the Republican Party upset at their Franken- stein Boy who is more them than they could ever dare to be. But laughing most of all is the People’s Republic of Russia who couldn’t have had a better bang for their buck than if they’d invented a two-dollar bill.
But who’s to lose . . . the Democrats? No, Try “the Democracy!” For, if we are not exceedingly careful, we will wake up one morning and discover that we, The American People and the Statue of Liberty, have all been fired.
Thank God For Momma
or those who question
whether or not God ex- ists, I have two words to vali- date His presence..... Motherly love. That is be- cause only a compassionate omniscient Being would see to it that every female placed on this planet to procreate would be overcome with that emotion the minute they re- produced life.
While this intense feeling to nurture and protect an- other person may last longer in some women than others, the fact remains that at some point, a majority of us were held in the embrace of this divinely inspired instinct.
In that regard, I feel like I hit the "momma" lottery. I was truly blessed to be placed inside the womb of a woman who, at least to me, exemplifies the kind of ex- traordinary selflessness that comes with motherhood.
Out of all the people in the world who've come in and out of my life she has been that one constant supportive and steady presence. The person who's had my back (as she likes to say) through- out every struggle. And, if I
happen to leave this Earth before she does, I'm sure she'll be one of the few who'll be there at the end as well.
This is why, when people ask me if going to prison was my biggest regret in life, I tell them no. My biggest regret is unintentionally breaking my mother's heart as a conse- quence of the foolish actions that led to my predicament.
The appreciation and love I have for my mother makes it impossible for me to un- derstand those who mistreat their own. I mean, how does any man or woman find the gall to spit into the face of the person who sacrificed 9 months of her life to make sure he or she arrived here safe and sound?
Those are the types of in- dividuals who I attempt to steer clear of because they typically attract the kind of bad luck that the devil, him- self, couldn't manifest. And it's usually only after their mothers are no longer around that they realize the incredible magnitude of their loss.
For me, Mother's Day isn't your run-of-the-mill holiday.
It is a special occasion that should be thoughtfully dedi- cated towards honoring the women who allowed the best thing in the world to happen to us.... Birth.
These are the women who gave us hugs when we were good, spanked our little be- hinds when we were bad, wiped our tears when we cried and kissed our smiles when we were happy. They could have taken the easy route and terminated our ex- istence before it even began. But, instead, they welcomed us into their lives and gave us all they had to give.
This weekend, whether you're fortunate enough to have your mother still around or if she has passed on, take the time to thank her for all she's done or pay homage to her memory. They never asked us to pay them for the endless amount of affection they bestowed upon us. So showing them how much we love them is the very least we can do.
To every mother every- where, have a Happy Mother's Day.

cans (earning $200,000 or more) $765 billion in tax cuts over the next 10 years. However, we are surprised that college students and their parents benefitting from
these programs have been deafeningly silent.
Indeed, Upward Bound, Veterans Upward Bound, and Upward Bound Math-Science
funding has helped low-income high school, college, and veterans prepare for, succeed in and graduate from college as well as improve their Math and Science skills.
Among programs that were cut are Talent Search (identifying and assisting disadvan- taged students eligible to enroll in college), Equal Opportunity Centers (counseling, fi- nancial assistance information, career workshops, Student Support Services (support to students that will increase college retention and graduation rates, Ronald McNair Post- Baccalaureate Achievement (grants to prepare students for Post-Baccalaureate de- grees), and child care access for parents in college.
Therefore, if you or your child has benefitted from any of these programs, then you need to speak up.
Oh, Say Can You See Education Cuts?
fter promising 80 or more presidents of America’s
Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that he would do more for HBCUs than any other presi- dent has done before, President Donald Trump approved passage of a budget that cut $9.2 billion from the U. S. De- partment of Education that basically resulted in HBCUs receiving flat funding.
At the same time, the budget eliminated TRIO, Work- Study, and GEAR-UP Programs that students attending HBCUs needed in order to enroll, remain in and graduate from HBCUs.
Not that we are surprised by the audacity of President Trump to cut education funding and give wealthy Ameri-
