Philadelphia Eagles Win First Super Bowl In Franchise History

Nick Foles Celebrates
Philadelphia Eagles quar- terback Nick Foles should be called one of the ‘Greatest of All-Time’, because he showed his skills when it counted the most. Foles, or St. Nick as fans can now call him, out-dueled the so-called great Tom Brady at Super Bowl LII, bringing the Eagles their first Super Bowl cham- pionship in history, 41-33, and winning the MVP for the game.
It was the biggest offen- sive shootout in Super Bowl history, with the teams com- bining for more than 1,000 yards in total offense, and capped a Cinderella story for Foles, who was signed this year as a backup, and was lit- tle used until starter Carson Wentz injured a knee in De- cember.
“This game has been re- lentless, just relentless.” said commentator Cris
Collinsworth as he watched the tense fourth quarter un- fold.
He wasn’t exaggerating, as the two teams stood toe-to- toe for the entire game.
The game wasn’t really de- cided until the final play, a half-field heave by Brady, who was hoping for a miracle.
Of course, the game wouldn’t be complete without a catch controversy. The final Eagles touchdown, an 11-yard catch and run by Zach Ertz, spawned a debate. The Eagles showed no sign of slowing Brady down on Sunday as he threw for a playoff-record 505 yards and three touchdowns, carving up the defense at will on a night when the Patriots did not punt once or turn it over until Brady's late fum- ble with New England on its 33 with just more than two minutes remaining and poised for a comeback.
That's when Graham beat Shaq Mason off the line and reached his left hand out for Brady just before he was set to throw. Graham knocked the ball loose and Barnett landed on it in what will go down as one of the most memorable plays in Philadelphia history.
"We said we needed a play," Graham said. "If we got one more opportunity, we're going to give everything we've got and I just so hap- pened to get there."
The fumble set up a field goal that gave the Eagles an eight-point lead and then the game ended when Brady's desperation heave for Gronkowski in the end zone fell to the turf, sending green and white confetti to the field, emotional Eagles pouring out on the field and Brady on the ground in frus- tration.
Kevin Hart Blocked From SB Stage, Kicked Off NFL Network
KEVIN HART
Kevin Hart’s follies were the postgame highlights follow- ing the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The popular actor/come- dian was in Minneapolis for the game to root on his hometown Eagles. He tried to join the Ea- gles on stage for the reception of the Vince Lombardi Trophy but was denied access.
As if that weren’t enough, Hart later joined the NFL Net- work postgame show. He was admittedly drunk and dropped an F-bomb at one point, which prompted him to get kicked off the show.
Nick Foles won the Super Bowl on Sunday, and then he celebrated with his adorable baby daughter.
Foles’ daughter, Lily, was born in June and is less than a year old. She had a cute green headband around her head for the Eagles’ col- ors, and you notice the head- phones around her ears to help block the loud sounds.
The scene was reminis- cent of Drew Brees’ cele- bration with his young son after winning the Super Bowl.
NICK FOLES
Brees went to the same high school.
Foles went 28 of 43 for 373 yards and three touch- downs and was a very de- serving Super Bowl MVP.

Interestingly, Foles and
Johnson Will Give A Free
 Beer To Eagles Fans
Philadelphia Eagles fans will not only get a parade this week, they'll also get a free beer.
A spokesperson for Bud Light confirmed Sunday, after the Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33, that the brand will make good on a promise it made on Twitter in the summer and will give one free beer to fans 21 and older along the parade route who want to partake.
Before the start of the sea-
son, right tackle Lane John- son, who had been sus- pended 10 games for violating the league's per- formance-enhancing drug policy, said a Super Bowl win would result in free beers on his tab.
"I have a lot to prove to this city," Johnson said in late July. "I think if we have a few big years and make the playoffs, if we win a Super Bowl, I'm giving out beer to everybody."

Tom Brady Expects To
  Bowl Loss: 'I Could Have
Return, Rob Gronkowski
Changed That Game'
Less Definitive
New England Patriots cor- nerback Malcolm Butler ex- pressed his frustration for not starting following the team's 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII.
"They gave up on me. F---. It is what it is," Butler told ESPN after the game.
Butler, who played 97.8 percent of the defensive snaps in the regular season, had an illness earlier in the week but wasn't on the team's final in- jury report. Eric Rowe started in place of Butler on Sunday.
Against the Patriots, Ea- gles quarterback Nick Foles threw for 373 yards, three touchdowns, an interception and finished with a 106.1 passer rating.
The Patriots allowed 538 total yards, the most allowed

in any game by a Bill Be- lichick-coached team.
"I could have changed that game," Butler said.
Butler arrived to Min- neapolis one day after the team, on Tuesday, because of an illness that he said had him at the hospital. Prior to Sun- day's kickoff, an apparently emotional Butler covered his face with his hand during the singing of the national anthem by Pink.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said earlier this week that he was- n't thinking of retirement, and he reinforced that Sunday by saying on Westwood One radio prior to the Super Bowl: "Yeah, you're gonna see me playing football next year. I don't envision not playing."
Brady is signed through the 2019 season and is still playing at a high level, as evi- denced by his winning the NFL's Most Valuable Player on Saturday.
After Sunday's 41-33 Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Brady was less defin- itive but still stuck to the same refrain.
"I expect to be back, but we'll see," Brady said after throwing for 505 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's defeat. "It's 15 minutes after
TOM BRADY
the game ended. Have to process this a little bit. Don't see why I wouldn't be back."
Perhaps surprisingly, Pa- triots tight end Rob Gronkowski left the door open to the possibility of re- tirement following Sunday's loss.
"I am definitely going to look at my future for sure," said Gronkowski, who will turn 29 during the offseason. "I am going to sit down the next couple weeks and see where I am at."
