President Trump Attacks FBI, Justice Dept. And Top Democrat After Key Memo Is To Be Released
President Trump accuses the FBI and Justice Dept. of bias now that an incriminating memo is about to be released. He also re- sorted to name calling on Monday against Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.

President Donald Trump positioned himself squarely against the leader- ship of the FBI and Depart- ment of Justice on Friday ahead of the possible release of a highly controversial Re- publican memo alleging the FBI abused its surveillance tools, claiming the govern- ment agencies "politicized the sacred investigative process in favor of Democrats and against Republicans.
Trump, by accusing the leadership of having a bias against Republicans, is once again maligning people he appointed to their roles, in- cluding FBI Director Christopher Wray, a man Trump nominated after he fired former FBI Director James Comey in May.
The tweet also puts Trump squarely on the side of Republican lawmakers who view the memo, which was penned by House Intelli- gence Chairman Devin Nunes and approved for re- lease by the House committee earlier this week, as a docu- ment that shows evidence of nefarious motives atop the FBI.
On Monday, Trump ac- cused the House Intelligence Committee's top Democrat of criminally leaking sensitive information.
Trump's tweet comes as Democrats push to release a memo expected to rebut a Re- publican document of alleged FBI surveillance abuses.
"Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washing- ton, right up there with Comey, Warner, Bren- nan and Clapper! Adam
leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak con- fidential information. Must be stopped!" Trump tweeted.
Schiff quickly responded on Twitter.
"Mr. President, I see you've had a busy morning of 'Executive Time.' Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would ap- preciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else," the California Democ- rat tweeted.
According to sources, the Democrats plan to offer a motion at a Monday business meeting to release their memo. If approved, the mat- ter would be sent to Trump, who would have five days to object to its release.
The GOP memo alleges that the FBI improperly used information paid for in part by Hillary Clinton's cam- paign to obtain a Foreign In- telligence Surveillance Act warrant for then-Trump campaign foreign policy ad- viser Carter Page. Trump has said the memo "totally vindicates" him in the Russia probe.
At last week's meeting, Republicans blocked a Dem- ocratic attempt to release their memo at the same time as the memo spearheaded by Chairman Devin Nunes of California, with Republicans saying they had just been pre- sented with a copy of the De- mocrats' document.
Republicans have since said they'd vote to release the Democratic memo, drafted by Schiff, a sign that the com- mittee is likely to approve its release.
more than half of the Republi- can members of the House and Senate, including Speaker Paul D. Ryan, were on board, many with spouses.
Paul Ryan spoke by phone with President Trump to update him after the crash, White House officials said.
The crash was a jarring start to an annual tradition that is
intended to let lawmakers es- cape the noise of the Capitol for a few days to socialize and set priorities for the coming year, well that did not happen.
Instead, lawmakers still tired from attending Tuesday night’s State of the Union address found themselves star- ing out the window at a violent crash scene.

An Amtrak train carry- ing Republican lawmakers to their annual policy retreat crashed into a large truck in rural Virginia on last Wednes- day, killing one of the truck’s passengers.
Two other passengers from the truck were injured — one seriously — and taken to a hos- pital. Two members of the train’s crew and at least two passengers, including Repre- sentative Jason Lewis, Re- publican of Minnesota, were also taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Republicans had chartered the train to carry them from Washington to the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia, where the party held its annual policy retreat through Friday.
Several lawmakers who were aboard the train estimated that
The train wreck happened with nearly half of the Republicans in Congress onboard.
A day after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the New Eng- land Patriots in the Super Bowl several members of the cham- pionship team said they will skip the celebratory White House visit with President Donald Trump.
Wide receiver Torrey Smith, defensive end Chris Long and safety Malcolm Jenkins have all said they won’t be going, NJ.com re- ported.
Eagles saftety Malcolm Jenkins says he won’t attend White House celebration.
Jenkins appeared on CNN's New Day on Monday morning saying, "I personally do not anticipate attending that."
President Trump has slammed NFL players for tak- ing a knee during the national anthem — even urging team owners to fire players who do not stand.
Jenkins and Long have raised their fists during the an- them this past season.

  Former Head Of Nazi Group
 About To Get Republican Nod
For Congressional Seat
A former leader in the American Nazi Party is about to get the Republican nomina- tion for a U.S. congressional seat in Illinois.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Arthur Jones, a Holocaust denier who has re- peatedly tried ― and failed ― to attain office, is the only can- didate seeking the GOP nod for the seat in the heavily Demo- cratic 3rd Congressional Dis- trict.
Images on Jones’ campaign website showed him speaking at KKK and neo-Nazi events, giving the Nazi salute and shredding the flag of Israel. He

called the Confederate flag the symbol of “white pride,” “white resistance” and “white coun- terrevolution.” Jones also told the Sun-Times that the Holo- caust was “an international ex- tortion racket.”
The Illinois Republican Party strongly oppose Jones racist views and his candidacy for any public office, according to reports.
Jones mocked the party’s attempts to stop him.
