Falcons Beat
Buccaneers Open As Touchdown Favorite Over Washington Sunday
Saints, Keep Bucs
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers (6-2) and Washington Football Team had a much- need bye week in Week 9. At 2-6 on the season, Washing- ton has lost four consecutive games and has had several starters currently nursing in- juries.
Also, the Buccaneers list of injuries are long.
Washington hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sun-
day at 1 p.m.
The opening spread is a
bit of a surprise. The defend- ing Super Bowl champions face a team that has lost four in a row, including three of those by double digits.
This should be an easy win for the Buccaneers.
Washington competed with the eventual champs until late in the fourth quar- ter, before falling 31-23.

Atop NFC South
With Multiple Fines For
Injuring Jameis Winston
The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers’ Week 8 loss to the New Orleans Saints costly for the team in the NFC South race, but it’s proving to be even more expensive for Bucs linebacker Devin White.
White was hit with mul- tiple fines from last week’s game, including one for the horse-collar tackle that left Saints quarterback Jameis Winston with a torn ACL.
The second-year defender
DEVIN WHITE
was also fined for taunting and roughing the passer penalties later in the game.
Could Odell Beckham, Jr. Land With The Bucs?

The Tampa Bay Bucca- neers lost some valuable ground in Week 8 with a road loss to the New Orleans Saints, but they’re still in first place in the NFC South de- spite being on a bye in Week 9, thanks to an upset win by another division rival.
The Atlanta Falcons went into New Orleans Saints (without Jameis Winston) built a healthy lead that evap- orated in the second half Sun- day, but a last-minute drive set up a game-winning field goal in the final seconds, handing the Saints a disap- pointing defeat in front of

their home crowd.
That loss keeps the Saints
behind the Bucs in the divi- sion standings at 5-3, as Tampa Bay still boasts a 6-2 record.
Bucs LB Devin White Hit
The Houston Texans and Vernon Hargreaves are going in opposite directions.
The Texans have cut the former Tampa Bay Bucca- neers 2016 first-round cor- nerback.
The release isn’t the first time the Texans have cut Hargreaves. In the 2020 offseason, the Texans re- leased him only to bring him back.
As the Texans continue their commitment to building a culture and with the NFL trade deadline passed, the or- ganization may be getting down to having players gen- eral manager Nick Caserio likes on the roster.
Hargreaves played in eight games for Houston, starting in five of them, and picking off a pass, deflecting three others, and providing 27 combined tackles. The 26- year-old played 319 snaps, representing 60% of the de- fensive snaps through eight games in 2021.
Just days after the NFL trade deadline, one of the biggest names in the game is looking for a new home, as the Cleveland Browns waived star wide receiver Odell Beck- ham, Jr. on Friday morning.
Would the Tampa Bay Buccaneers make sense as a potential landing spot?
Since Tom Brady arrived in Tampa Bay, the Bucs have been on the short list of every big-name player who has be- come available. Rob Gronkowski, Leonard Fournette, Antonio Brown and Richard Sher- man are prime examples of what Brady’s presence can do when it comes to recruiting talented players.
Coming off another Super Bowl run certainly doesn’t hurt, either.
The Bucs have also been banged-up at receiver so far this season, with Brown and Scotty Miller both missing multiple games due to injury.
If Beckham has indeed been frustrated with his role in the offense, and the play of Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, it’s hard to imag- ine a better upgrade in terms of throwing the ball than Brady.
Throw in the mild winter weather in Tampa, and it’s easy to see why Beckham might want to continue his NFL career with the defend- ing champs.
