Plant City Parents Deliver Baby In Family Car
Serves On National NCNW Committee
Ms. Tee Solomon was selected earlier this year to serve on a national committee for The National Council of Negro Women. The Commit- tee, the National Membership Drive Initiative, is composed of women from throughout the United States and is coor- dinated by Mrs. Lois Keith, National Vice President. Solomon is one of four Chairmen or “Captains” of the full group.
The goal of the committee is to build the organization’s membership exponentially, implement a timeline for cov- ering certain facets of the drive, and celebrate the achieved growth through spe- cial recognition at the 2018 National Convention.
When asked how she feels about the task at hand, Solomon commented: “I am blessed and honored to serve in this special capacity. It is a labor of love and refreshing to work with such wonderful ladies from all four corners of

the country, and to exchange ideas. Because of this experi- ence, I can be a better re- source to my local Tampa Metropolitan section and en- hance our visibility.”
Since its inception, 2,043 new members have joined during the national drive. Addition- ally, Solomon is the Interim state secretary for NCNW’s newly developing NCNW Florida or- ganization. Ms. Ingrid Saunders Jones of Atlanta is the NCNW National Chair.
Ms. Rosa Cambridge is president of the local section.
A Plant City family wel- comed a new member to the family Thursday. However, in- stead of giving birth in the hospital, the infant was born in the family car.
Clifford and Christine Stallworth were taking their two sons to Harvest Time Christian School, driving from Plant City to Tampa. Mrs. Stallworth, 29, was experi- encing contractions, but she discounted them as false labor.
However, as they drove, she realized that it wasn’t false labor and her baby was on the way, 10 days early. Her hus- band called police and contin- ued trying to make it to the hospital.
They made it as far as the parking lot of Tampa General Hospital Brandon Outpatient Center. And, it was there in the family’s 2011 Volvo, that Janine made her entrance into the world.

In addition to her parents, Janine was welcomed by brothers, Zijon, 6, and 5- year-old Preston. Clifford, 29, held the baby during the delivery.
Mrs. Stallworth, who is a teacher at Harvest Time Christian School, began her
Christmas holiday early this year.
Mrs. Stallworth and Ja- nine, who weighed in at 6 pounds and 8 ounces, were transported to the neonatal Unit at Tampa General Hospi- tal. They were released over the weekend.
