Democrats Dominate NAACP Straw Poll Election

On Thursday, August 9th, the Hillsborough County Branch of the NAACP hosted a Community Political Forum. During the event, the organization also conducted a “straw poll.” The results of the straw poll give candi- dates and members of the community an idea of who are in the forefront of the races.
More than 650 people at- tended the political forum and approximately 200 of them took part in the straw poll.
Ms. Yvette Lewis,
President of the Hillsbor- ough County Branch NAACP said the straw poll election was monitored by the Hills- borough County Supervisor of Elections Office. She also stated that those participat- ing in the straw poll election were allowed to cast ballots for any of the candidates
running for office.
The results of the leaders
